Re: Can you think your way out of an RLS episode?

How horrible for you!!! I've had RLS since my mid-30's (well, probably all my life) and I've had numerous surgeries, including spinal fusion T6 through T12. Most of my surgeries were done under general anesthesia. However, I did have carpal tunnel surgery, which was supposed to be done under local a...

What a NICE surprise and a wonderful part of my birthday! Yes, I am, ehmmmmm, 16. If you believe that one, I have some swamp land in Florida to sell you! LOL I am 61 years old this year. I can't believe I'm 61, but I am. I feel lots younger in some ways, and on some days, I feel lots older. You all ...

Charlene, you have my deepest sympathy and empathy!!! I, like you and Ann , wish I had NEVER started on Mirapex, but--at the time--I would have taken poison if I thought it would help. I've been on the stupid stuff so long now, I don't think I can get off of it. And, I have put on the weight!! Ann, ...

Hi Andy I, too, am so sorry you had to come back to us...not because we didn't miss you, but because of your worsening RLS. I had spinal fusion on September 12, 2006 in my thoracic spine (T6 - T12). Immediately following surgery and for several months, my RLS was almost nonexistent. That may have be...

I am in southern Illinois an hour SE of St. Louis, so not near a river. And, luckily, we've had no tornadoes right here in Mt. Vernon, but we've had several tornado warnings and they have touched down all around us. Nothing like those poor people in Iowa and Kansas (and anywhere else they've really ...

The daily pill box is a great thing.....most of the time. The other day, I went to lunch with a friend. I have a pill box---AM and PM for every day. I take two pills in the morning, and the rest in the evening, including all of my RLS pills and pain meds for my back. As I said, I went to lunch at, u...

Mack, your reply was very good and very true. There could definitely be other reasons for the pain besides RLS. Fortunately, my blood sugar has never been as high as yours. The highest mine has been (as far as I know) is in the 130's. As Mack said, there could be other causes for those painful legs ...

I have Type II diabetes, which was diagnosed just a year ago and I've had RLS forever. I also have painful RLS and, because I've had that for a long time (the achy muscles in my legs and arms along with the creepy crawlies) I know it's RLS. My RLS isn't always the same degree of pain. In my case, I ...

Ahh yes, Ann--Bittersweet is is a perfect word. I think change is just hard for 90% of us---probably all of us. And, the older we get, the more changes come into our lives. But, sometimes change can be good, too. It helps to talk to friends. Thanks, Ann, Charlene and Lyndarae and Ruby for starting t...

Yes, Lyndarae, that was a great last sentence. And, I know it's true--none of us knows what's around the corner. And, we do have to "let go." Our kids definitely have their own lives, and that's the way it should be. But, that doesn't mean I can't be a little bit sad, does it? That's all I...

Oh, Ruby... I am so darn happy for you!!! I know how you felt when they moved to Arkansas. It seems like things are turning around for all of you. I know things will be tight, sometimes probably not a lot of fun. But, I also know you and know that, through it all, you will look at the good times and...
