Look for a pain clinic or a doctor that specializes in pain. They are not afraid of prescribing Lortab or other opioids. Then describe your jitters and creeping sensations as painful. Good luck!

I switched to a pain clinic after my doctor tried all the usual medications that are prescribed for RLS and no relief. I believe my doctor was glad to see me go. I have been on hydrocodone 7.5/325 now for about three years. Pain clinics are not afraid of prescibing narcotics for long-term use. My on...

Catfish I am taking hydrocodone with acetaminophen and when I started I was concerned about the tylenol levels. I asked for the drug norco which is hydrocodone with a smaller amount of tylenol. I then make sure I don't take anything else that contains acetaminophen so that I stay way below the 4000 ...

It sounds like lortab may be your answer. Finding a doc who will prescribe opioids is the problem. I finally had to go to a pain clinic because they were the only doctors who felt comfortable in prescribing what I needed. Even though I have insurance the pain clinic isn't covered so I private pay. A...

Aiken... I was taking Ativan for three or four years. Increased the dose to 2 mg. before bedtime. When I quit taking it I didn't notice any withdrawal symptoms except that my body was so used to having it to sleep that without it I couldn't sleep. I would lie in bed with my eyes wide open all night....

I took gabapentin for over a year for RLS. I was taking 1200 mgs. every day. I didn't like the side effects so I decided to quit taking it. I quit cold turkey. I had flu like symptoms for about two weeks. It didn't put me in bed but I did feel awful with headache and upset stomach with no appetite. ...

You are correct. I am not that educated about drugs either, but I am learning. We all have to do our own research and share with others. For my two cents worth anybody suffering from RLS should stay away from nalaxone.

I can't remember where I read it and it has been a couple years, but when I was trying Pentazacine with Nalaxone for RLS I discovered that Nalaxone can cause the worsening of RLS. I found that after taking the medication my legs did go wild. I also wondered why my doctor who claimed to be a speciali...

I know what you are going through. I am now seeing a doctor not covered by my insurance that will prescribe opioids because none of the doctors covered by my insurance would. My last doctor was willing to prescribe anything and willing to have me take numerous drugs as long as it wasn't an opioid. I...

Emily,

Neurontin helped me with both pain and the creepy crawly feelings. Unfortunately it wasn't worth the side effects.

Good luck

It didn't work for me. Wasn't strong enough. Lortab does work and without all the augmentation and other side effects. To bad doctors are reluctant and some refuse to let patients try opioids.

I took neurontin for a little over a year. I was taking 300 mg 4X a day. The side effects were what prompted me to stop taking it. I gained at least 20 pounds. I was very sleepy during the day, foggy brained, unusually thirsty, and I have had two doctors since tell me they don't like the drug. They ...

Kip... Welcome. I read with interest that you have been on narcotics for 11 years and have had relief from RLS during that time. I just started on opioids about two months ago after trying medication after medication . I have found relief but have wondered if that would change over time. Have you be...

Fidgetboy It seems that the dopamine drugs work for a lot of people therefore everyone is forced to try them by their doctors before you can move on to other medications. It isn't an easy or quick process. Unfortunately there is no cure that works for everybody. Your first experience with the sleep ...
