I haven't posted here for awhile. Last January, I went on a vacation to Cancun. In my luggage, I tossed in the bottle of prescribed methadone. The first night in Cancun, I realize that in the bottle were only TWO tables left! Yeeooww! All through the rest of the trip (5 days more) I suffered so mise...

Just wondering...
When the whole Rosie debacle happened, did the Restless Leg Foundation, being an advocacy org, write a letter or registered an official complaint to the show's producers?

Here's what one psychiatrist would counterpoint: One myth that complicates the use of BNZ by doctors and patients is that they are “highly addictive”. The fact is that if they are taken regularly, so that they are always in your system, over time you develop a physical dependence. This means that yo...

Methadone
Thought I'd chime in. I've been doing without Methadone for two weeks now because I couldn't get to Dr. Buchfuhrer to get my script. I have a couple of observations to share. I did not experience any withdrawal symptoms although I've been taking Methadone for two years. I ran out one day and that wa...

I am in Northern Ireland, a part of the UK. We don't have drug adverts on tv, or rather those that we do are only the over the counter stuff. Drugs which require a prescription are not advertised on tv or in the press. Hi Betty, It used to be that way about 20 years ago in the U.S. I don't want to ...

Betty, The Amitriptyline is definitely not a good idea to prescribed to a RLS sufferer. I take an SSRI (Zoloft) and it makes my legs wiggly more. Dr. B has to increase my methadone dose from 5 to 10 mg. and added Lyica to help combat the effects of Zoloft which really helps with my depression. Ami-y...

Methadone
Hi Rebecca, I've maintained my methadone to 5mg and as I said it calms my nerves just enough so that the Lunesta can keep me asleep throughout the night. It doesn't, however, keep my legs completely still. I wonder if I increase it to 10mg or even to 15mg will it then improve or quiet my rsl? In ord...

Methadone
Hi all, My first third-month course of methadose is almost over (I have 5 tablets left and made an appoint with my doc). I was taking 5mg before bedtime. What i'm noticing for the last couple of weeks now, is that my RSL is getting worse every so slgihtly. I have RSL 24/7 but the methadose helps my ...

No RLS. None, nada, zip. Ann, Is this true? Absolutely no RSL with methadone? Wow! I'm heading toward methadone. My doc has me on Ultram right now and it helps with my sleep at night--also takes Lunesta. But the daytime RSL is still there. My doc wants me to go on methadone someday. But I'm a bit a...

Neither works
Neither method works for me. Like Jan, I have RLS all day long and the problem is falling asleep at night. The urge to move is just too much that I can't even go beyond Stage I! How can you get to REM and then NREM without going through Stage I first? My RLS just would not let me pass through Stage ...

Counting sheep
Counting sheep never worked for my RLS or insomnia. The problem for me is once I started falling asleep, the urge to move comes right back and wakes me up. I start counting sheep again, doze off, urge comes back. The cycle continues and pretty soon, its time to get up.

Re: "sewing machine legs" or bouncing legs while s
I always shake my legs when sitting....one member described this as "sewing machine legs"... basically when sitting...toes on ground knees off the ground... your legs shakes up and down. I've always done this totally subconciously as long as I can remember DrWass22, this is an exact description of ...

Insomnia, Iron
One great awakening for me was when I realized that my RLS caused my insomnia. It was a good night when I was able to get four hours of sleep. I wasn't getting into the deep sleep phase because my legs would wiggle all night. Just realizing this fact was empowering to me. Now I'm on Requip and Lunes...

I remember as a child wiggling my legs everytime I went to sleep. I remember in high school jiggling my legs under the desk annoying both classmates and teachers. I remember in college waking at night and having the urge to walk and walk. I remember now in my adult like when I cannot sit still while...
