Lyrica did the same for me when I took it a few months ago. It did seem to help with the night time pain but didn't appear to help me get better quality sleep.
My right hand began twitching throughout the day when I was on it. As soon as I stopped, the twitching went away.

How fast does augmentation start?

I'm revisiting my long list of meds that have been unsuccessful in preparation for a visit on Friday to a new sleep specialist/neurologist. I tried Mirapex and Requip several months ago and within a day or two my RLS pain was much worse than it has even been. I thought it was augmentation at the tim...

Another dead end... Doctor said to keep taking the Gabapentin that it may eventually work. Gee, after a week I would think that I would have some results...either good or bad. Asked him about Adult ADD and if there could be a correlation between it and RLS for me. He basically said I don't have ADD ...

No swelling, just the same pains. We will see what happens at the doc tomorrow. I had asked him about stimulants at my last visit because I have such a hard time focusing and concentrating plus my energy is so low. He wouldn't rule it out so I thought I would re-visit that. Interestingly enough, I t...

It's always the same...a deep burning in the back of my left thigh. Occasionally the tops of my feet around the ankles get a 'fatigued' feeling but over the past few days, just the burning. Generally it does bother me during the day but after starting the Gabapentin it seems worse. I suppose it is p...

It's been several months since I took the agonists. The only thing I am taking right now is Synthroid for hypothyroid and Gabapentin.

Gabapentin dosage....feels like augmentation from Mirapex

After trying a host of other meds, the doc decided to try Gabapentin. I've already tried Lyrica with little or no success is helping me get refreshed sleep but at this point I'm willing to try anything. Started with 300mg at bedtime for a couple of days. I didn't notice a difference so I ramped up t...

I agree. There is no sense waiting a week to ramp up if it isn't doing anything for me.

Gabapentin

The doc gave me Gabapentin 300mg at bedtime for a week and then 600mg at bedtime after that.
I've taken it for a couple of days and don't feel any relief. Fortunately I haven't had any side effects either but....
Thinking maybe I should go ahead and ramp up to 600mg.

I have the book by Hening. I guess the point of prescribing Ambien, Lunesta and now Sonata was not to cure insomnia (which I don't have) but to get me to a deeper state of sleep or restorative sleep. I guess common sense says that is sound logic but it hasn't worked. So, if I'm following Figure 10.3...

Went to the doc again yesterday. Told him that Lunesta wasn't doing much, if anything. Asked him about Ritalin and he pretty much moved past it. I asked him about it as a last resort and he said it might help but he wanted to treat the cause not the effect. I appreciate that but it might be what I h...

I took Lyrica for a couple of months over the summer. I did not have any side effects from it and it helped ease the urge to move and the tingling sensations in my legs during the day. It didn't help improve my sleep by calming my legs at night though. I did add a Hydroco/APAP 7.5-350 with it at bed...

I tried taking the 2MG Lunesta with one, 7.5/350 Hydro/APAP for a couple of nights but it didn't make a difference.
Last night I tried 3MG of Lunesta and I can't seem to wake up today.

So, I go back to the doc on Friday and will talk about Ritalin and the other suggestions.

thanks, Shane

I had augmentation with Mirapex and Requip both. The pain is in my left leg, only on the back 99% of the time. When I took each of those meds both legs started killing me and the tops of my feet as well. I used Lyrica with no success. It seemed to relieve a little bit of the pain but I'm still looki...

Great info, thanks. I guess I have been going about this the wrong way. We originally tried to get the RLS symptoms to go away but had augmentation so I haven't been taking anything to specifically treat the RLS since. It's generally uncomfortable and doesn't get to a high level of pain too often so...
