Betty, very simply hot yoga is regular yoga in a hot environment. The temperature, and usually the humidity in the room are increased so that it is like you are doing yoga in a moist air sauna. As if a good yoga class wasn't challenging enough... For an hour and a half all I am thinking about is my ...

I miss living close enough to the city to be able to take advantage of classes like that. I love yoga, of any sort (do sessions at home everyday), but hot yoga provides a special challenge. I can't say I ever drew a correlation between that and a reduction in the RLS but am glad to hear that someone...

Well, so far tonight is a HUGE improvement over the last two nights. Praying that it stays that way and that I can get in touch with my doctor tomorrow so that I can confirm that he still wants me to increase the Ropinirole tomorrow. Thanks Anne and Beth for replying. Knowing there are others out th...

I know I haven't read about many that augment soon after starting the DA's so wasn't sure if it could happen or not, and not sure if I just might be having a couple of bad night too. But reading some of the stories on here definately has me alert to the possibility of augmentation. Thanks for the in...

Augmentation with DA's

I understand that everyone is different, but is there any kind of time line during which augmentation is more than likely to occur? Are the DA's something you have to be taking for a while before augmentation is possible or can it occur within the first week or two of starting the drug?

Ferritin levels above 50 help some people with RLS while others find that they do not see any improvement until their levels are above 100, and others find that their symptoms do not change regardless of their iron levels. A percent saturation on iron of less than 20% is also associated with a worse...

Another one of those posts that makes me feel just a little bit guilty for feeling better, even just for a moment, because I know that we are not in this alone. Once I get to sleep I can usually manage 2 1/2 to 3 hours, though on a really good night I can make it to all the way to 5, those are bliss...

Thanks for the link Anne. Actually pleased with the segment, aside from the bit at the end where he talked about putting lavander soap under I our sheets. I know it works for some people, but so few that I think he could have choosen a better 'treatment' option to include in the piece. The rest of w...

RLS on Dr. Oz

Did anyone happen to catch the segment Dr. Oz did on RLS today? I got a text message from a friend that the start of his show mentioned a segment on RLS. Unfortunately I was at the Dr's office and was not able to see what he had to say and she was going to watch it and get back to me but she got cal...

Thanks Anne and Beth.

That's basically where my mind set was as far as the side effects go but it is nice to hear those thoughts re-affirmed but someone with a little more knowledge and experience that I have.

Thanks again!

I am hating my computer and my internet this afternoon. This is now the third time I have attempted to reply to everyones posts. I had initially written a reply and thanks to each of you, but I am quickly running out of patience with my computer so am going to try and get this off quickly before the...

Thank you Betty and Polar Bear for taking the time to read and reply. There are nights that I come on hear just to read posts that give me hope and there are often posts of yours that are on that list. Shortly after I posted I got called into work and am just nicely getting home now. Thank goodness....

Not exactly new, but figured this was the best spot to start

I have a feeling this is going to turn into a bit of an essay so I will apologize for that in advance. I believe that I have had RLS most of my life. I can recall the typical growing pains and having my mother have to message my legs every night when I was a child so that I could attempt to sleep. A...

I guess I didn't explain the situation well in my first post which is nothing new for me. I'm not good at putting my thoughts into words for others which is why I read the posts without ever posting myself. If I'd been smart I would go with you Zach and told them where to put it, but that's didn't o...

Vitamin D - has anyone heard anything?

Was talking with a friend tonight and we started talking meds and supplements and such and she mentioned that her son's neurologist recently recommended that he start taking vitamin D. The believe that he is pre-MS and are doing what they can to delay onset and apparently vitamin D is thought to hel...
