Re: Trying out Kratom

I've used kratom for over four years now, to manage my RLS, but it's all I've used, so I don't know how you would use it to taper off of other medications. I would just caution you not to chase the euphoria. From what I've read and experienced myself, any euphoria is short-lived and just pushes you...

Re: Trying out Kratom

Any hints on how I might experiment with this with an eye to cutting down/out the Lortab are much appreciated.

Trying out Kratom

Friends, After reading the posts about Kratom and wishing to cut back on the Hydrocodone I went to a local and reputable smoke shop today and purchased a jar of the Red Vein powder. (I am aware I can buy it for less online, but I wanted to try it right away) I took some a half-hour ago, 2:00 pm. It ...

Re: RLS symptoms and Opioid withdrawal

Thanks. I shutter to think what I might incur if I even approach my doctor with changing over to straight hydrocodone. As for veggies I probably eat more of them than most persons. Two servings each supper. I could up it and I have wanting to add spinach to my regular diet anyway. Thanks for you hel...

Re: RLS symptoms and Opioid withdrawal

I confess to only reading a couple of the posts in the medical marijuana forum, but the very first post definitely made me consider, I repeat, consider this route. As marijuana is now legal in Nevada I figured I might give it a try. I also take zolpidem for sleep difficulties. As someone mentioned i...

Re: RLS symptoms and Opioid withdrawal

The main reason I wsnted to get off lortab is that is causes constipation. Also with things getting tougher w/r opiods the day may come when my doctor will no longer prescribe lortab for me. He is a new doctor for me and was very reluctsnt last winter to continue my prescription. I have a post on th...

RLS symptoms and Opioid withdrawal

Hi everyone, I have been managing my RLS for many years with a standard 7.5-325 lortab. I am considering trying CBD marijuana as an alternative to the lortab. (pot is legal in my state) My concern now is that someone told me that opioid withdrawal includes symptoms like RLS. Even when I am a bit lat...

Re: Horrible attitude from Primary Care Physician

They changed the rules a couple of years ago. I can no longer call in Hydrocodone and get it filled through fax. I have to pick up script in person. This may be just a Nevada law. I don't know.

Re: Horrible attitude from Primary Care Physician

Great idea about how to connect with the doctor. btw across town is 6 miles each way. If my next meeting doesn't go well then I will try to find another Primary Care doc. but this guy is good about giving my scrips. Don't think I want to risk another without good cause. My health is good enough that...

Re: Horrible attitude from Primary Care Physician

I appreciate your story, 2Basset. I have been on the same dosage for nearly nine years. Originally prescribed for regular shingles, but I found it helped my RLS. I usually take 2 or 2-1/2 tabs at noon and a half before bed. I told the doc that if he looks at the record of refills he would know I can...

Re: Horrible attitude from Primary Care Physician

Steve, Thank you for your considered reply. I had been with the Filipino doctor for 10 years and it had only been in the last year and a half that he started opening up, spending a little extra time to ask me about my life and share parts of his that related to what I had told him. Much of the probl...

Re: Horrible attitude from Primary Care Physician

Thank-you each for your replies. My general health is excellent so I do not foresee having to see this doctor often. My last physician was a bit reluctant to prescribe the opioids, but realized the necessity and was nice about it. Another factor is that my last physician was Filipino and this one is...
