Pramipexole (Mirapax) Sustained Release

I've been put on sustained release Pramipexole, just wondering if anyone has tried them, and also is drowsiness a common side effect?

Tegretol worked for my RLS as did Epilim (sodium valproate), but the side effects of both were too severe.

I might try Tegretol 100MG again. : )

Hi Betty, I take up to 6MG of Mirapax a day (or did). The maximum recommended PER DOSE for RLS is .75MG. Sometimes I need to take .5MG/hour until the RLS subsides. (Max 6MG/day). Anyway weight gain out of control, and the bupropion has really helped, dramatically in fact. I think you need to take a ...

Bupropion (Wellbutrin) + Mirapax for RLS

I have been on 6 mg of Mirapax for months for restless legs syndrome, it's caused significant weight gain and I seemed to need more an more for relief. After starting Bupropion (Wellbutrin), 300mg I have been able to reduce the Mirapax to 1 mg! I can also actually relax my legs in bed, and my depres...

I think this is the same as Mirapex. First of all- it makes you ill. Have you tried taking it with food, or splitting the pill and taking it more often in smaller doses. I know this has worked for some people. Yes I take it multi-doses of 1 mg. Usually 1 mg at lunch, 1mg at 6pm, 1 mg at 9pm, then 1...

I'm about to try Meberal

Hi everyone, I'm still having a terrible struggle with RLS, and am currently taking up to 6MG/day of Sifrol (pramipexole) which kind of works but makes me feel ill. A local doctor suggested I try Meberal, I have had some relief from phenobarbital in the past so thought it might be worth a try. Has a...

john, I'm not an expert in opioids, but Tramadol didn't touch my RLS. Neither did codeine (then again, it made me sick, so maybe it would have). I did, however, find help with the big guns. In my opinion, you will not be able to continue taking the DAs - you'll go mad first. But, that's just me and...

Stopping the DAs is difficult, but not impossible. Most people need to take opiod painkillers for a while until the augmentation settles down, and that may take a month or two, or even longer. Then you'll be so amazed by the profound relief you get from the painkillers and the lack of side effects ...

When I was taking Mirapex, I has the oddest thoughts....waking, sleeping, in between waking and sleeping....they never stopped. But, they were particularly bad during light sleep or as falling asleep or awakening. As soon as I stopped it? They were gone. I also had songs in my head 24/7. Sometimes ...

I was on Remeron for Depression and Bi-Polar. It put on so much weight I had to stop, even tho it really helped with the depression, it was seriously good for that.

I have met other patients who have had to go off it for the weight thing - it's a MAJOR side effect.

I don't want to put a dampener on things, but I have read a lot about where RLS can go into remission for periods of time, but always reappears (in the cases I have read about). When it does come back, the symptoms are usually worse than before. Here's something I found about Symmetryl on a recent m...

Catching up

Hi all, Haven't been in for a while, thought I would bring you up to date with how things are going for me. First, I have now been on Mirapax for some months - used to be on Requip, am finding Mirapax better, lasts longer and augmentation not as severe. Only thing is, before I started on ANY drug in...

Thanks for the advice, there seems to be a bit of a conflict of opinions between the docs, looks like I'm going to have a seek a third opinion.

Thanks again
