Magnalife?

I came upon a product in our pharmacy, grouped with vitamin/ mineral/ herbal supplements. It is called Magnilife and it is specifically targeted for rls sufferers. The ingredients listed were (I didn't have my glasses so I coudn't read clearly....*sigh*):anaphalium, polycephalum, viscum album, magne...

Wow! I just finished reading the article. I had just posted questions about allergies and rls this last week. You guys are good! Thank you so much for keeping on to of all the research. I am truly amazed, and grateful. If I understand the article, additional histamine nerve receptors on the brain so...

Wow! I have been thinking about this for so long, and except for the discussion board, few people picked up on it. AFter reading the article, I understand why I can manage much better without sleep when caused by rls than other situations, but I can't say I understand why the antihistamines trigger ...

Thanks, Zach. That's the one I am going for, then. There are so many different types out there, I was hesitant. I can't stand the thought of taking one that makes my legs worse.

Beginning of rls? funny experiences? annoying expriences?

Does anyone else remember exactly the first stirrings of rls? Mine started so clearly and quickly that I can't help wondering if something at that time (besides the fact that my grandmother had it) "caused" it to rear it's ugly head. I was wondering if there is a common thread in when it s...

Thanks everybody for the feedback. I met a new neurologist yesterday and discussed my allergy/rls symptoms. She told me that any type of inflammation can cause increased symptoms of rls. Her advice was to stop the allergy symptoms as soon as they show with nettie pot (I use saline sprays), cortison-...

I'm not taking anything for allergies. I pretty much rely on saline sprays or nettie pot to flush my sinuses. It cuts the edge and I get by. The increased rls symptoms were so bad with benadryl that I cut that out and everything else. The less medecine the better.

My RLS is pretty much under control with the meds. There are only a few occasional flare-ups, even with meds taken regularly. Those flare-ups are usually accompanied by those allergy symptoms, all at once. They are intense, last a day or less, and then disappear (allergy and rls).

Hmmmm. I don't understand why your doctor is avoiding tramadol. I have never used it as my only med, just in conjunction with requip. My doctor has mentioned codeine among medications that help the symptoms, especially in the distant past, but he has never prescribed it. I can't say it is something ...

Thanks, sardsy. Back to the neuro is my next step. He didn't see any connection between allergies and rls symptoms, when we discussed it in the past - and RLS is his specialty. He has since moved to another state. I will try speaking to his "replacement". I was hoping, though, that if othe...

Hmmm. Clearly I have missed a lot by not joining this forum sooner! I thought I was the only one who found that orgasm helped. If I am going to lose sleep anyway, it sure beats rls! Seems to me, there is no way to lose! Now about that toothbrush.........

Wow! I wonder if rls and being able to draw are connected :D ! I don't find that pillows under/between my legs help, but something like it. When I am in the car (don't try this if you are driving or wearing a short skirt!) I put my feet up on the dashboard, bend my knees and adjust my seat so that t...

I have been seeing Dr. Arthur Walters here in Edison, New Jersey. Unfortunately, for me, he has just moved to Tennessee (July, 2008). He is a neurologist who specializes in sleep disorders, but most particularly in RLS. He has published widely and does lots of research. Even better, though, he is a ...

I took Neurontin for quite awhile in addition to requip, I had to stop the Neurontin, though because my feet began to burn and tingle. Since then I picked up tramadol in the afternoon and my requip, and I have been fine for several years. I have tried Sinemet CR, Mirapex and over the counter stuff. ...
