spinal tap

I had one to be the final proof of MS. You sign a scarey waiver releasing the doc from responsibility if you end up paralized or dead. I definetlly was scared and figured it was all over for me. I grabbed the edge of the bed just prior and during the procedure that took maybe two minutes, thinking w...

Zach, I know that now, but thanks for validating it. I'm left with my gabapentin and this new spript for mirapex? My neuro says that it's in the same family or drugs as is the carbidopa/levo, so I'm concerned. This dopamine thing has me concerned when I read all the horror stories here about it's si...

ZACH, I cant help but think of the words from a movie, Shawshank redept. either get busy living or get busy diein, classic thought. You are just a pup and have lots of time to turn it all around. My wife of 37 years went through total brain surgery involving angiograms first to find out vessels that...

Zach, Thanks for your advice. I have had a couple of my worst days/nights ever recently after going clean from meds for several day and sleeping. It's amazing, sleeping for several hours. Last night I ttook about 400mg of the gabapentin and it worked, but wow do I feel like I am under a fog, The oth...

Since I'm in wa state and have MS, I've gotten pot, and it did help. Here goes the mental thing, though. I get God thoughts and feel when I'm high I have to do life inventory and examination. Basically lay there doing that and the legs go to work. Right now I'm in financial crisis as I'm self employ...

Ms and RLS =2 sweet partners in crime

I too have the combo. You are fortunate to have found some releif with meds. I have not found the two I've tried to help, in fact the rls got worse after temporarily having some degree of being able to sleep. How long have you used the requip?

sleepless in seattle.....

I'm thinking all this talk and reading did me in for sleep last night. I might of gotten 2-3 hours at best. I laid in bed for 3 hours unable to sleep with no rls, then it took off running, every 5 seconds going back and forth, right to left leg. I'd get up, walk around, stretch, go back to bed, twit...

drugs and their side effects

I'm really trying to not take anything, but still drink alcohol. I know it's side effects and ability to cause a wakeful period, but it relaxes my mind off the idea of my legs twitching. I'm a habitual type who has to stay away from other addictive substances. The meds for me become a curse as they ...

MS and RlS =2 sweet partners in crime

I too have both, the first was RLS in the early 90's and in 2005 was dx with MS. My neurologist has suggested the MS may have started then and that they are linked together for me.I have used gabapentin and carbidopa/levodopa with some success with the first and terrible results from the last. It ac...

Thanks for the reply! I wish I was in Ireland experiencing it, rather than being in the states. My wife and I got to visit for our 25th anniv in 1997 and it was the best place on earth. A bit difficult to drive, but worth it! It takes my mind off the others to just think abou it. Sleep, is it overat...

The fact the two like to cohabitate together is comforting. No one wants to be alone. My fear is it's in the legs and I like to be able to walk, if possible. I've found that anxiety drives it. One needs sleep, you go to bed with that goal, but it's hard not to think about the twitching. When will it...
