thankyou everyone for your input. last night i took 900mg at 7pm then another 900 at 9pm. i went to bed at 1030 feeling quite relaxed but have woken at 4am just as bad as ever. As soon as my doc is back from his break i will discuss it with him over the phone - i can't get an actual appt till May. I...

I was taking 1200mg but that only worked for a few nights. i have bumped it up to 1800mg which certainly made me feel pretty relaxed altho my arms were still bad last night. i don't know whether i am perhaps makin...

hi thanks everyone for your comments. Just a couple of things....Zach i know that rls is a waking condition and my specialist knows that too. what he was looking for with the sleep study was plmd and sleep apnoea (sp?) but also to see just how restless my body was during sleep And what it showed was...

yeah thanks for that sojourner. I understand about needing to increase the dose i am taking - the specialist explained that all to me. The sleep study showed that I suffer greatly from PLMD and showed that i am never still as well as with the PLMD which i guess is why he names it as severe rls (as i...

relief at last :)
well i never thought i'd see the day.... I went for a sleep study the other night which showed severe rls and moderate sleep apnoea. it was fascinating to watch the video of me 'sleeping' (the specialist says that i was never really deep asleep). no wonder my husband complains that i keep him awake!...

Thanks so much for all ur advice. Ann it's nice to know of other 'itchy' ppl out there - it really drives me insane and it is only when my rls kicks right in (which lately seems to be nightly and now creeping in to most of the day) I actually cause scarring on my arms. Zach thanks for ur knowledge o...

thanks zach
Thanks for ur help zach. i know a sleep study is probably useless but at least this doc is the australian rep for rls at forums in america so he understands what i'm going thru. i don't know whether it's different in australia or not but he is reluctant to prescribe any drugs until he can see what m...
