Re: Naltrexone for RLS?
I am waiting for the day when others try Naltrexone for augmentation and/or impulse control. I just submitted a piece for the Bedtime Stories in Nightwalkers. Hope they publish it but they may not as it just one person trying something new and lots of people are trying nonconventional approaches. Bu...

Re: Naltrexone for RLS?
I take 1.0 mg of Mirapex, 900 mg of Gabapentin and 25mg/25mg of Naltrexone, the latter splitting the 50 mg pill into a morning and evening doses. Is 50 mg of Naltrexone considered high dose? I thought it was low dose Naltrexone.

Re: Naltrexone for RLS?
To be clear, I still take Mirapex and used Naltrexone to control both augmentation and impulse control disorder. BOTH came back after running out of Naltrexone. I am anxiously awaiting a mail order shipment of Naltrexone from the U.S. so I can get my life back.

Re: Naltrexone for RLS?
I have an update. In July I moved to Mexico. I was not able to get Naltrexone here so eventually I ran out of this med. My augmentation came roaring back. So this is additional proof that Naltrexone controls augmentation long term. For those of you who can’t get off Mirapex or Ropinirole without goi...

Re: Naltrexone for RLS?
I am the one who posted several years ago about my use of Naltrexone to control RLS augmentation and impulse control issues. I am still taking Naltrexone and it is still just as effective in controlling both of these issues. I currently take 1mg of Mirapex and 600 mg of Gabapentin for RLS. I take 25...

Re: Augmentation - Delaying the Inevitable?
Legsbestill, I did email Dr B about this, since he had corresponded earlier with me and said that patients with my symptoms he usually puts on opioids. I didn’t get a response, which was disappointing. I thought that maybe the top RLS researchers hear from lots of people about things that worked for...

Re: Augmentation - Delaying the Inevitable?
I want to add that Naltrexone has a short half life of 4 hours. So by taking it once a day in the morning I had little in my system at night, when the eating and sex control issues were occurring. So I need to take Naltrexone twice a day. If you aren't experiencing impuls control issues and are augm...

Re: Augmentation - Delaying the Inevitable?
This is a follow up to my discussion of using Naltrexone to relieve augmentation from Mirapex. I am still doing fine, with no augmentation in two years. I am taking Mirapex at 0.75 mg and Nalttexone at 50 mg. I am taking Naltrexone at the level used by addicts because that is the level used for weig...

Re: Opiods
I just posted a lengthy description of my success in using Naltrexone to eliminate augmentation and avoid going to opioids in the "Augmentation, Delaying the Inevitable?" discussion thread. I appreciate your caution, ViewsAskew, on attributing this to Inflammation. My recent google of low-...

Re: Augmentation - Delaying the Inevitable?
I may be repeating my story but I would love to have someone with severe augmentation try Naltrexone. Over 2 years ago I was augmenting badly as well as having impulse control issues. I would have gone on an opioid if I could have found a doctor willing to prescribe it. After struggling for 6 months...

Re: Opiods
I moved cities and didn't pay attention to this discussion thread until now. I am going to publish a more lengthy reply soon. My answer to you is that I was already taking Wellbutrin when I added Contrave so I deduced it was the Naltrexone that made the difference. I continue to have the positive re...

Re: Opiods
Hi Ann. The fact that my docs and even Dr. B can't explain this leads me to believe that naltrexone is a good area for research. Might reveal new insights into RLS or the effectiveness of dopamine agonists.

Re: Opioids
Anyone familiar with low dose naltrexone (LDN) for use in restless legs syndrome treatment? I know it is used for auto immune disorders, as well as, fibromyalgia and some neuropathies. I have had a wonderful response of my RLS to naltrexone. And totally unexpected. I have had RLS for 20 years and i...

Re: exhaustion provides no reserve to deal with stress
Thank you Steve. I was up all night with you know who and wrote this about 5 am. Then I went to bed not knowing if what I had written was funny. In fact reading it now I realize how it would take a while, if ever, to figure it out. Glad you did.

Re: exhaustion provides no reserve to deal with stress
Dear Abby, I have been living with my companion for 20 years. We are constant companions and have grown very close over the years. I can't imagine living without her. But I am questioning our relationship, telling myself that am giving too much of myself and getting so little back. I am obsessed wit...
