I made an appointment for tomorrow at noon. I am going to ask if there is anything I can take to help break these terrible episodes. In the past I have taken xanax for anxiety and it seems to (sort of) kill two birds with one stone. Maybe he can give me some of that or some painkillers.

I have been on .25 mirapex for about 3 months. At first it worked like a charm, but like you I became overwhelmingly drowsy. Since then it has worked well, without the drowsiness but I began getting headaches at night. Recently, (the last week or 2) my RLS has been tremendously worse. It may be even...

In so much pain!!

Is there any non-pharm treatment for RLS? I am in agony today, and I don't have any way of dealing with the pain. I am on .25 mg of Mirapex and it doesn't seem to work at all. I take it at night but my legs twitch throughout the night and it seems like I don't get any relief. What should I do? Is th...

No it did not take all the symptoms away, and no it's not worse, it is just worse at night. Does that make sense? I don't think I have augmentation, I just think that now my symptoms are a bit different. I do believe the mirapex has worked overall.

Mirapex not enough?

I have been taking .25mg of mirapex at night, with some improvment of my RLS. But lately I have been waking up with twitching legs and it is so bad it wakes up my wife too. I haven't had it this bad in a while, usually I just feel it during the day but now it's seriously effecting my sleep. What sho...

Yep I sure do. Sometimes it starts in my lower back and goes down to toes, some times the other way around but I totally have it in my lower back. When I saw Dr at Johns Hopkins he asked if I had any RLS in my trunk. Due to his question I would guess it's possible. Hope this helps. I think the firs...

Ok but I'm asking.. what have I stated that is not a record of fact -- outside of the opinion that public healthcare is coming? Anything that is political "fact" can be researched and the record cited - I'm thinking of congressional voting records here, and records of who sponsored what b...

As an outsider (and arguably someone who has a somewhat objective view) I do think that what Zach originally wrote was appropriate, though I admit I don't know the rules of this site entirely. His point was that the FDA's decision mirrors the administration's push towards a nationalized healthcare s...

I understand your point Fidgetboy, but I do think that Zach's points are entirely valid and spot on. However, it's rather pointless to gripe about any one person or political party since these matters are not easily changed. I have a hard enough time advocating for myself let alone having to worry a...

Even the "Obamessiah" and his administration has to bow to public pressure. Yes, he does but he will use his honeymoon period to get what he wants. This is why the media has made such a big deal about his "first hundred days" because it's when the public still has a favorable op...

See, this is the way they will get doctors to stop prescribing methadone and other drugs. First, I don't take methadone, and I don't plan on it. But if I need it I want to be able to take it because I know what RLS pain can be like. There is very little in this life that causes me extreme agony that...

Zach, I cannot get that link to work at all for me. Every time I try it gives me an error and shuts down my browser. Do you have it saved to your HD as a pdf. ? If so could you email it to joel.leiby@gmail.com ?

My point was that withouth mentioning any political affiliations or individual leaders, in the next few years we will see a completely new health care system arise, one in which there will be a lot of "change", some good and some bad. Some of the bad aspects of this new policy have already...

The only people they are going to hurt are those who actually NEED these meds. The druggies will get their drugs from other places besides health care providers. You are exactly right Zach, this is exactly what we are going to be dealing with now that Obama and his team are priming us for public hea...
