Betty and Ann: Thank you very much for the help locating a source of information. I tried decreasing Mirapex yesterday (I took 3 doses of 0.5 mg about 6 hours apart). This morning about 4 AM I took a sleeping pill so that I could go to sleep, and today I feel really drug out--except my legs, of cour...

Do you know how I could find the address for Dr. Buchfurer? I'd love to get an opinion from someone who knows. I did run across something today that indicated I should perhaps taper the Mirapex...so, if I don't find something definitive, my plan is to skip most of the daytime doses and see if I can ...

I was thinking that it might be good to make my initial attempt on a weekend, so that if I go nuts, I can change my mind and take the Mirapex again before I have to function. I'm fully expecting the Neurontin to have to build up in my system a little--a friend is taking it for pain, and she said it ...

Mirapex to Neurontin

I have to thank you guys for the previous help--I wasn't aware of augmentation until I stumbled on this list--now I know I have to get off the mirapex! (Remember me--the q4 hr dosing?) So--I'm going to try Neurontin. I have MS, and think that my RLS may be a facet of that, and...for various reasons,...

provigil

I take provigil occasionally--for reasons completely unrelated to RLS. However, I've noticed that on the days when I take it, my RLS seems slightly less annoying. It doesn't make it stop, but it just doesn't seem quite as bad.

Gambling

I haven't had any problem with compulsive gambling. And my MS seems to have dealt effectively with any uncoltrollable sexual urges (darn it!) But, I do seem to have developed a compulsive behavior--I'm blaming it on Mirapex. It's shopping. Not anything really extravagent, but just a continuous urge....

Kimberly: I know you said you had tried Wellbutrin. I switched from Wellbutrin to Cymbalta last summer, because the Wellbutrin wasn't doing the trick. Now, I wonder... Anyway, I ran across this article today. If you've already tried it, it's probably not of any value, but perhaps it will help someon...

I also need to apologize--my note needed to go in a couple of pages ago. I discovered after I posted it, that I hadn't followed the thread all the way through.

My apologies...

FDA restrictionw

I think I'll jump in here now... First, I don't think it's something I want the FDA deciding I can or cannot have. I think that's a medical decision, not a political one. And I WILL contact my representatives--fortunately, my congressman is a physician. However, I would like to point out that physic...

I just wrote a long eloquent post, complimenting Aiken and apologizing to Lex, and then I hit a wrong button, somehow, and it disappeared.

So, Aiken, a very astute observation, and

Lex, I'm sorry if I came across as insensitive--I was just trying to understand.

I LOVE computers!!

Lex, I'm a little confused...why do you feel badly about having RLS? Or about dealing with insomnia? It's not something to be ashamed of--I mean, if any of us could make it go away, I'm sure we would. We definitely don't choose this agony! Just remember that people who would choose to look at you as...

yeah, that's me--the metabolic wreck. (although the name came about because of Grave's disease and a heart attack, before I knew about the MS). My neurologist and I both think that there could be some link between the RLS and the MS, but I don't guess there is any way to prove it. There are a lot of...

Ms. Bear: Who is Dr. B? (Ooh, that felt almost sacriligious--are we talking about the father of RLS?) I'm still reading--I really think we've followed the algorithm pretty well. Did Dr. B suggest something different? JM--in my reading yesterday, I ran across something that said it takes Mirapex abou...

Oh, you mean like I did. Thank you Zach. I already sent the algorithm the his office, directed to "his" nurse. It sort of looks like he's been following the algorithm so far, we just have to decide which steps to take now. Well, off to do some more reasearch! Thank you all. The Wreck
