Hey guys, Sorry for not posting in a while. Been quite busy. Right now, however, I'm in a weird state and thought I would see if anyone else has experienced this. I've been getting around 4-5 hours a sleep a night for the past week or so but I'm not sure that is what is causing this. I feel like i'm...

Great NYTimes Piece on RLS

I've just been going through a sort of multimedia presentation done by the New York Times called Patient Voices: Restless Leg Syndrome. Seven different people talk about their own experiences with RLS (one of them is the spouse of another person interviewed); what it feels like, how they were treate...

Asking certain questions is a dilemma. Here's why: 1. He is an understanding doctor. He empathizes with me and I believe he honestly tries to learn more and approach each problem with full vitality. He often asks me how I feel about his decisions regarding me and looks at various things I show him r...

Even early symptoms of withdrawal would start that early? I thought, that with methadone, withdrawal doesn't usually start until at least 24-48 hours after you take your last dose.

Of course, I may be assuming incorrectly.

I have no idea how to go about finding another doctor. This one has been incredibly kind to me in terms of payment. I have no insurance and basically he just asks me to pay what I can. Basically, if I was to switch doctors, I would have to know for sure that this new doctor would be one I could stic...

Well, It's almost 9am and I've slept around 2 hours in the past 24. Going a little crazy. I finally e-mailed my doctor this morning about increasing the methadone. It's just ridiculous now. I've been doing my shaking my legs back and forth rapidly while staring at my computer screen, often without e...

It already exists, Woodsie. http://hcxlabs.com/case-study/disease-state-simulation/restless-legs-syndrome-simulator I really like your idea of going into a doctor appointment with a rating system, and telling them you're going to rate them. That thing looks like the devil incarnate. Imagine one of ...

Incidentally, that was the first forum I stumbled upon when looking for some advice. I left to find a new one quickly. Their style of argumentation is internet-logic at its worst. All caps so as you know they're making a "strong point", petty name-calling, etc... The quality of conversatio...

Great analogy! One thing that might have something to do with this, is that my doctor is a psychiatrist. He treats me for other things and was the doctor who prescribed me loritabs in the first place (after a number of other medications like the anti-parkinsons, etc..). I wonder if he can only presc...

Wow! 100mg and I can't get past 5mg.

I hope all goes well for you Helen. I'm sure it can be controlled.

I'm even more sure of it now. I just need to convince my doctor that going over 5mg isn't going to turn me into a junkie.

Although I'm not sure, he may be trying to keep me from developing a habit, though with methadone, I don't think that's something to worry about. I'm just fearful that even if I try again now, and demand an explanation, he will say he can't see me anymore, which would be bad considering he treats fo...

Thanks for all the responses. Seems like the possibility of a tolerance holder/reducer is not in the realm of the impossible but still in a good deal of trial and error. The reason I ask is because my doctor wants to keep me at 5mg total all day (2.5mg twice a day) and I understand that and it's fin...

Two questions: 1.) Is there anything out there that is known to drop or keep in check one's tolerance to opiates? I have no idea if such a drug exists but it would seem like a great thing for us who opiates if we could control our own tolerance to them. 2.) Does anyone here use Lyrica along with the...

My dosage right now is 2.5 in the morning, 2.5 in the evening. In the evening I still have trouble that I don't have during the day because I"m usually up and around more during the day. I haven't had any increases, though I've only been on methadone for two weeks. Really, I guess I'm still try...
