Re: Physical Treatment Treadmill?

Hi all, been a few years since I've posted. The lost of drug effectiveness: the drugs never did too much for my symptoms and as the neurologists kept upping the dosage I just felt like a walking zombie. After 2 years of that I reduced the meds to nighttime (i.e. before bedtime) only and quit seeing ...

Re: gabapentin augmentation ?

First off, I'd like to apologize to the mods and members if I have missed this topic somewhere along the line. I tried a search but I'm afraid I may not have done a good job navigating the search feature. In any event, I'm just wondering if it is possbible to augment with gabapentin? I never experi...

Re: Xanax and RLS-WED

I actually had to shave a teensy bit off each time I'd reduce it or I'd go into full-fledged withdrawal - vomiting, pain throughout my body, fever, shivering, and so on. Blows me away, Ann. It was surreal. I literally would shave off teensy bits once a week. Any more that that and it was truly horr...

Re: Xanax and RLS-WED

I can agree with your analysis. I took Xanax, now Klonapin which is what really eases the symptoms (I don't have pain, just creepy crawlies). It's strange though I don't feel that I'm a stressed out guy. I have no wife or children to stress me out and my job is also mostly stress free. I do feel my ...

Re: neurontin

My experience with Neurontin wasn't too bad. At first it worked great. Worked my way up from 300mg at night to three times per day. Caused dizziness the first week, but that went away. It also made me pretty lethargic, but it was working so I adapted. Then after about 4 months it didn't work anymore...

Re: Sleep position

I recall that my ex (who had mild RLS) used to deal with it by sleeping on his stomach with his toes hanging over the end. Hmmm. Interesting that it works even when people aren't stretching or squashing. I do find it slightly easier with my feet/toes hanging off the end. I still have trouble gettin...

Re: Sleep position

Hi, i'm new to site. Often find better on front also, maybe easier for dopamine to be released? Hi Jim. Glad it works for you too. Still works for me. I'm getting really good at it now. My legs can be buzzing hard, and I can just roll onto my stomach and will likely be asleep within 20 minutes (unm...

Re: Plagues of Egypt Pestering Me or RLS/WED?

Thanks for the info, I will see about getting some of the lotion. The liquid bandaid warning is too late though lol, I tried that before and it was a real bad experience as you know. Yes, it feels like "an exposed nerve" incredible how painful such a little crack can be, it is worse too b...

Re: Plagues of Egypt Pestering Me or RLS/WED?

I get cracks near the fingernails that you're taking about, mostly in the winter. Very painful, like an exposed nerve. It's just dryness. What I use is a lotion called Aquaphor (Eucerin) at night and it will generally clear them up or at least stop the pain in one or two nights. Spread it on the fin...

Re: Magnesium Salts...your experience??

you're right doety, clonmazepam is not a drug of choice for RLS any more. But neither would it normally be taken away from anyone if it's working for that person. It's got a 40-hr half life, so almost two days later it's only half gone. I don't understand why everyone taking it doesn't turn into a ...

Re:

Hi - I wanted to report that I took Mucinex a few hours ago in desperation. I usually avoid cold meds like the plague, but this cold is truly kicking my butt. So far, the mucinex has not bothered my RLS at all! I take methadone for my RLS and pharmacist said it was OK to take these two meds togethe...

Re: Full Moon set of your RLS

...start to "jang and bang"... Catchy. Kind of sounds like a music genre. I'm going to borrow that if you don't mind. Phases of the moon don't effect my RLS. I haven't been able to pinpoint anything that definitively makes it better or worse. Most days are OK, with the occasional sleeples...

Re: Neurologist

Went to visit my regular doctor this week so that I could get my prescriptions renewed, and he told me what I'd been anticipating for the last few years. He is going to be retiring in a few months. Going to miss him as I've been going to him for the past 24 years ever since I moved to this area. He ...

I never experienced a cough or voice change. Just vertigo and lethargy at the start. Both had passed within a week.

Re: Nitrous Oxide

Oooo, I dislike that drug! Made me paranoid and freaked me out. Never went back to that dentist just because I was so miserable using the drug. I know many people really like it. I know the feeling! As a teenager I was given gas at the dentist and it made me sick. Threw up in the dentist's trash ca...
