Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again

Does your GP have any plans to help you thru the withdrawal with something other than pregabalin? Yes, time to get it over with - but you should have an opioid... or lots of physical and emotional support. Re gaining weight, yes your DIL is correct but it;s also true that various meds make it almost...

Beth, try the B12 again but wait at least a month before you decide if it is helping or not.

Re: RLS brought on by Clozapine

Since your WED/RLS is a side effect of the clozapine, it is not clear how much IV iron will help, but it is definitely still something to look into. Have you tried different anti-psychotics? Were any others effective? If there is something else you could try that would be effective, it might not hav...

Re: Oxycodone HCL--how much works for you?

AFAIK oxycodone ER should be taken at least twice daily. This will ensure a certain blood level all day, and this is apparently the key of not getting addicted or not having withdrawal symptoms. taking it twice a day will prevent mini-withdrawals, but I don't see how it can be involved in preventin...

Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again

It's good you tried the extra pregabalin. Have you had weight-gain issues on pregabalin or only on gabapentin? Maybe it won't be such a problem. The burning sounds more like a neuropathy than WED, but maybe it's some weird withdrawal thing ?? Anyway, not surprising that the pregabalin helped it. I h...

The need to experiment I find very depressing. I feel that i can't afford the time - - the time that gets lost when you have a bad night.

Re: B 12 levels

Wow. You're not the only one who reports B12 helping the symptoms. I hope it continues.

I took a sublingual tablet of B12 (methylcobalamin) for many months without any apparent effect, but it might be worth a try again since I had a lot of other things going on then.

Re: SIBO - 4 facts from a dietician

Did you notice any changes in your RLS? It's hard to say what affected my WED/RLS since I made some massive dietary changes at the same time. Yes, my WED/RLS got better - over 2 years I was able to reduce my meds every 3-6 months til I was at slightly under half what I had been taking. But I don't ...

Re: new ideas for RLS

I take maca to help recover from workouts but there's no evidence one way or the other that it helps. In your case, however, you're taking it for RLS/WED, which seems to be affected by hormonal states that change during pregnancy; and WebMD says maca-root extracts might act like estrogen.

Appointment at Johns Hopkins

I have a question for people. As I mentioned before, I applied for an appointment with Dr. Earley (or Allen haha) or someone else who is part of the RLS Quality Care Center at Johns Hopkins. Today they gave me an appointment with a Dr. Sara Benjamin. I have looked her up - I am not much interested i...

Re: SIBO - 4 facts from a dietician

Seems a sensible article, for once. She says no diet will control symptoms but can help manage them while the SIBO is being treated, and the low-FODMAP one is the best "bang for your buck" (highest ratio of effectiveness to restrictiveness). I mocked it at the time. but the naturopathic tr...

am noticing one major lasting benefit of the time on dipyridamole - I still (6 months or more after discontinuing) don’t get the creepy crawley feeling that was originally banished by dipyridamole. For that alone I am really pleased I spent time on dipyridamole. legsbe, are you saying your WED/RLS ...

we get so cought up in looking for answers outside our selfs. That's the main message. There's no lack of information in the world these day. Its over kill. They repeat the same information over and over again until we are blue in the face. So be careful what your feeding on because it might make y...

Re: Yoga Helping me so far

Huh! Nice ! Can you do forward bends? I find that forward bends set it off, but standing poses are good. Also anything that silences our sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) and activates the parasympathetic (wine and dine, or relax on the beach, or whatever) is helpful. Yoga is particularly...
