Re: What Relationships?

I am surrounded by mostly healthy people (or those masquerading as such. If they're masquerading, they seem to be doing a much better job of that than I am) ... I'm surrounded by mostly healthy people, which causes the illusion that everyone in the world is healthy and I am the lone person who stru...

Re: Plantar Fasciitis Night Sock

Mine has always been focused at my joints (ankles, knees, wrists), ranging out from there along the limbs as the intensity ramps up. And - hard to think about it, but I think more along the front of the leg and the outside of the arm....

Re: Is anyone having a successful 'drug free' experience?

@wilabozo: Were you on a dopamine-type medication like pramipexole? No dopamine-type medications; augmentation will torture you endlessly. Two weeks is not long enough for some people to recover from it. Your best chance at medication-free existence is iron infusions (intravenous iron). Oral iron ca...

Re: Proferrin/Iron Heme Polypeptide Tablet

I started eating liver when I went on the Wahls diet in 2014. You're supposed to have organ meats 3x a week but I don't come anywhere close to that. Still, a handy way to eat it is to cook a whack of bacon and onions, then sear the liver and barely cook it in the bacon grease, then grind it all up i...

Probable Augmentation

I take the following; 5mg oxycocdon, 1mg pramipexle, and 300mg gabapentin. I took 4mg of pramipexle for a while but augmentation was a concern. My Neurologist also presented a study showing it actually my cause RLS/PLMS to possibly progress more rapidly. restless, even though you wisely decreased yo...

Re: Experience with Injectafer?

The inflammation or just the pain itself or something about the hip injury could be what triggered your WED/RLS that night. It might be good if you can keep from doing anything that might cause your arthritis to flare up while you are tapering, so you can have a better idea of the cause if your WED/...

Re: Cold Turkey Blues

I am so impressed with you! That's hellish hard to do. You're approaching it right, not expecting anything of yourself and living in the moment as much as possible, finding what relief you could and snatching whatever sleep you can get. Don't forget, during those times that your symptoms are still b...

Re: New to group.

Congratulations on making it through that hellish experience. Thank you for returning to tell us of it! You didn't ramble at all. But you're allowed to ramble here if you want to :) Someone on this blog said Effexor can exacerbate RLS symptoms, and apparently that's what was happening for YEARS. Alo...

Re: Kratom berry compote

Lasvegased777 I agree, kratom has helped many people with WED/RLS. and probably people with opioid-addiction problems as well. Kudos to you for getting off opioid despite an addiction; that must have been a horrendous journey. It is so difficult - in many ways - to have a disease whose most effectiv...

Re: something easy that worked for me

XWelcome, your comments are intriguing. Coming right after Ann's post about the variation she's noticed in this disease, it seems to emphasize her points. This is such a complex disease. I have to find a point that hurts more than the PLM RLS. I use three different balls on my back. What does your R...

Possibly it was meant as a general comment and not specifically relating to RLS.
Yes, I'm sure that's what he meant.

Re: Increasing Gabapentin dosage

Wow! I could sit perfectly still for over an hour. That was interesting because I realized that my body is always moving in one way or another. Isn't it interesting how we adapt to our situation so well that we don't know what "normal" is anymore? Only when we get a taste of the old "...

Re: New to this group

Hi Deb I haven't talked to you before now but I noticed some things in your thread that I would like to address. While it certainly can occur in one leg at a time, the majority of people have symptoms in both legs simultaneously, especially if the RLS has been present more than a few years. Not only...
