Re: New to group.

Congratulations on making it through that hellish experience. Thank you for returning to tell us of it! You didn't ramble at all. But you're allowed to ramble here if you want to :) Someone on this blog said Effexor can exacerbate RLS symptoms, and apparently that's what was happening for YEARS. Alo...

Re: Kratom berry compote

Lasvegased777 I agree, kratom has helped many people with WED/RLS. and probably people with opioid-addiction problems as well. Kudos to you for getting off opioid despite an addiction; that must have been a horrendous journey. It is so difficult - in many ways - to have a disease whose most effectiv...

Re: something easy that worked for me

XWelcome, your comments are intriguing. Coming right after Ann's post about the variation she's noticed in this disease, it seems to emphasize her points. This is such a complex disease. I have to find a point that hurts more than the PLM RLS. I use three different balls on my back. What does your R...

Possibly it was meant as a general comment and not specifically relating to RLS.
Yes, I'm sure that's what he meant.

Re: Increasing Gabapentin dosage

Wow! I could sit perfectly still for over an hour. That was interesting because I realized that my body is always moving in one way or another. Isn't it interesting how we adapt to our situation so well that we don't know what "normal" is anymore? Only when we get a taste of the old "...

Re: New to this group

Hi Deb I haven't talked to you before now but I noticed some things in your thread that I would like to address. While it certainly can occur in one leg at a time, the majority of people have symptoms in both legs simultaneously, especially if the RLS has been present more than a few years. Not only...

Welcome to caser

Welcome to caser, who has had RLS for 50 years and feels the symptoms creep into arms and back at times, and worries about the effect of the medication on one's overall physical condition. caser, feel free to start a Topic and tell us a bit about your experiences with WED/RLS. Are you taking a dopam...

Maybe it's going to be 5 steps forward and one backward. I hope at least it keeps getting better overall.

Re: What Relationships?

restlessknight, if you don't mind telling us, what are you taking now and how much? I wonder if you're augmenting - if you're taking a DA, you might be. Before starting iron you should be sure you can safely do so (no danger of iron overload, and iirc you're not supposed to take iron with thyroid me...

If you can get by without raising it to 0.5 .... I hate to see you augment after being stable for so long.

Oh Holland, I'm crying. I don't know if it's because I'm happy for you or sad for myself! Both, I guess. I hope the benefits for you last a long time!

The reason to do it cold turkey is so that it hurts for less time. Remember that if the taper becomes too agonizingly everlasting.

Re: Proferrin/Iron Heme Polypeptide Tablet

I currently take 3 tablets of sulfate or fumarate with 60 mg iron in each, or 180 mg elemental iron. (And I notice within a few weeks if I drop down to 2 tablets.) Each heme tablet (Proferrin brand) has 11 mg. That would be over 16 tablets to get an equivalent dose. Presumably, it is more efficientl...
