Re: Anyone Using Hot Tubs as Relief?

I use hot baths when the symptoms are not too bad. The water needs to be very hot, though - at the edge of what I can stand. If the symptoms are really bad, I can't sit still even in the hot water. But when it works, its great. When my legs and arms slip into that hot hot water and all the WED disap...

Re: First night of methadone

I just shredded cabbage and used my hands in a big bowl to mash it over and over with salt. The salt makes it exude its own juices after a while, also after you pack it into a big glass jar and press down on it, it keeps on exuding. (The jar has to be clean and well-rinsed, because soap will kill th...

Re: Elastic support bandages

Cool. I don't think it could apply pressure in all the right places for me - - I need my ankles to be addressed, and worse, my knees would freak if anything was behind them. I have tried elastic wraps, which sometimes help but sometimes are irritating, and always are a pain to put on and take off. H...

Welcome to dliang

Dliang, who joined us today, has been having trouble concentrating during the day because of the effects of RLS/WED on sleep. dliang, you're not alone with that problem. The biggest issue we WED/RLS patients face is getting enough sleep. If you would like, you can start a new Topic in one of the For...

Re: First night of methadone

That's the great thing about fermented food. Probiotic pills have a few different strains, maybe 7 or even 15, but a wild ferment can have hundreds or thousands, most of them still unindentified and so unable to be included in probiotic pills, which therefore seem to be a pale imitation of the real ...

Re: Tele-medicine from Quality Care Centers

Well at least with the Foundation making enquiries about it, the hospitals and QCC's might give it some serious thought. Thank you for telling the Foundation about it! That's interesting that they're saying "entire platform be developed specific to RLS treatment and management." I would ha...

Re: First night of methadone

Oh no! I bet you're devastated by all this. You poor thing! If you can get hold of unpasteurized (raw) fermented veggies, like raw saurkraut, that would help to keep the good bacteria in your guts from being decimated if they treat you with antibiotics. It's probably a good idea to eat a bit every d...

Re: Gralise

Seems a bit odd that your doc would give you this rather than Horizant Ditto. Can you ask him why? or would that make him get his back up.... I am having another angry moment, with no one to direct my anger against, except generally against doctors who are ignorant of RLS/WED. There are lots of dif...

Re: Requip & Erectile Dysfunction ???

If sleep is the only issue after the temazepam runs out, perhaps one of the Z-drugs like zolpidem or zopiclone or eszopiclone. If RLS/WED sensations are the issue, you'll probably need a DA or an opioid.... and DAs have not been good to you. However- people who have augmented do take DAs again, usua...

Re: Another year of relief

Since different diets are successful to various degrees for various people, I have to believe there's something o do with diet that is highily important to conditions like RLS/WED. But is it the same thing for everyone? I had in mind to try the GAPS diet not the fodmap. I am reluctant to got o a die...

Re: tapering off ropinirole

your current neuro has potential, then. I guess he's worth hanging on to unless one with lots of RLS/WED experience suddenly appears. It would be impossible to work with him if he didn't listen. It's not in itself a bad thing that he takes some time to mull it over and read up on it, except that you...

Re: Requip & Erectile Dysfunction ???

I find my symptoms are up and down regardless of my stress levels. Worse when I'm stressed out, too, but sometimes there seems to be no explanation. Worse in the days leading up to my period, but I guess that's not a problem for you :-D Worse if I drank coffee, but sometimes I can drink coffee witho...

Re: First night of methadone

I like legs' idea, leggo. Just the confidence of knowing that someone would be checking on you (and pup) might ease the worry enough that you feel safe trying the meds the way they were intended by your doctor. Although she warned you of a risk, she didn't feel it was big enough to warn you against ...

Re: Does Gabapentin cause withdrawals?

You might want to re-investigate your iron situation. Labs will report ferritin values of 20 or more as normal, but if you do have RLS/WED, your ferritin levels should be at least 100 ng/ml. There is plenty of evidence out there for this, adn your doctor will be able to look it up easily. Some sourc...
