Re: Desperate

Hi KDJM I hope you're feeling better now that you're discussing things with people who get it. Regarding your comment I don't want to accept the fact that this is my life - forever. : I have made the mistake of thinking in terms of forever. But there's no such thing in the real world. From the deepe...

Re: Trying to cover my bases

I don't think they will base whether they see you, or when they can fit you in, on how desperate your case is. Since it will likely be a long wait to get in, no matter which QCC you choose, see if you can make an appointment now. You may have time to try and reject/accept Horizant before your appoin...

It might take a while for him to feel if there's going to be any effect from the infusions. If he hasn't already done so, he should think about ending the taper and stopping the pramipexole completely immediately. Most people find at some point that tapering just prolongs the agony, and the agony is...

Re: Prescription Refills

When you wake up, is it because of the symptoms, or is it an awakening without apparent cause? Once my symptoms became reasonably controlled with hydromorph contin, I found I couldn't sleep longer than about 10 minutes at a time, except for a 1-3 hour period right around when I was supposed to be ge...

Re: Methadone and Gabapentin no longer working well

Hope your upcoming appt leads to some changes for the better. All the troubles you're having can lead us to despair, but life is short and time is fleeting (stolen quote). The more I see, the more I realize I've become one of those people who is wasting her life trying to keep up, instead of living ...

Re: Kratom physiology

Since going into ketosis on Wednesday, my RLS has just gone wildly out of control. I finally broke down and took some methadone in the middle of the night. I forgot how sad and cranky methadone makes me. I also got a migraine aura a little while ago. Hopefully I can do few days of methadone and the...

Re: Orthofix fusing machine

So is RLS a nerve problem or a brain problem? The brain is made of neurons (nerve cells). I guess it' would be more accurate, based on what's known, to say RLs/WED is a brain problem, but apparently there's some evidence that peripheral nerves (non-brain, non-spinal cord nerves) might be involved t...

Sominex is diphenhydramine, same as Benadryl. Good on you for thinking twice and finding out before trying! That would have been a nightmare for you.

They didn't feel cold, but I touched them and was shocked at how cold they were. So, I ordered an electric blanket. All of a sudden, over the last week or so, I am sleeping soundly, and only waking up once or twice. I have an electric pad about 2x1 ft maybe even smaller. Even in the summer sometime...

Re: Counterstrain Technique

Thanks. Wondering if anyone else has any thoughts? Somewhat puzzling because the patients did not stop their meds and there was no change in sleep loss. Despite this, the aggregate RLS score improved by 10 points. They don't show what specific areas of the questionnaire improved, just the aggregate...

Re: Just joined

I'm 74 and have had RLS all my life but it recently became unbearable. My family Doctor gave me Xanax for anxiety and I noticed it helped me to sleep through the RLS, even though it did show up on my sleep study. So then she allowed me 1/2 of the lowest mil of Xanax to help me sleep. It worked for ...

Hi snodove3 Gosh you're in a tough spot! Always sucks when your doctor doesn't know enough. This is such a tricky disease. I would guess you do have RLS/WED and have augmented from the levo-carbidopa. IF your iron is low, it is critical to raise it and to keep it up there by continuing to take oral ...

I have had a weird throat thing off and on but it wasn't linked to any medication I was taking. I hope you figure it out.
