Re: Methadone and Gabapentin no longer working well

Gee Deb that really sucks. Just when things seemed to be getting under control. Are you sure you're getting tolerant to the methadone or could it be one of the phases you go through when symptoms get worse?

Same thing happened to me with gabapentin.

Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again

HI EllenSpoehr. I've been managing my symptoms for 7 or 8 yrs with an opioid (hydromorph contin) after augmenting on each of ropinirole and pramipexole, and getting little benefit and a lot of problem from gabapentin. and trying a few other things. Since I started on the hydromorph, my problems have...

Re: Magnesium Oil

I haven't tried it. I have had a hard time finding any reliable information that helpful amounts of magnesium can be absorbed through the skin. Let us know if it makes a difference.

Re: Counterstrain Technique

Sorry, I meant specifics of what locations on the body are probed and what body parts are re-positioned and how. These are described for in Pain and Counterpain for Pelvic Pain, which is Ch 6 of something that I can't track because I'm even sleepier now than when I wrote the last post. Apparently WE...

Re: Just joined

Hi and welcome anitalb I don't need to repeat what the others have said, but I agree - your dose is too high for RLS/WED, new ideas are that ropinirole should be limited to 1 mg maximum daily. The contrary thing about it is that it eventually makes the disease worse, meaning your symptoms are more i...

Re: Just joined

That's what I was afraid of. The gabapentin is not really taking care of the symptoms well enough for her to have a decent sleep, and her quality of life has decreased til she is just trying to get through the day. Her physician needs to be told this, as bluntly as possible, and then asked what solu...

Re: Counterstrain Technique

If anyone finds some information on the "RLS-specific" locations and what to do with them, I'd be interested in seeing it. I couldn't find specifics.

little things, like having to keep track of time for my meds (with frequently changing time zones) and regularly having to refuse the wine at meals that I used to love. It has just driven home how much more RLS has taken from me beyond the sleep and movement issues that are a regular part of our da...

Re: Ferriton levels/supplements

If possible, get a lab measure of serum (b lood) ferritin, before and a few months after starting the ferrous sulfate. (Ferrous fumarate is also as good.) Then you can tell how well it's working. If your ferritin is not raising enough, you can try 2 pills. But you should make sure there are no contr...

Re: Changing my diet may have solved my RLS

Sorry Oooz didn't see your post til now but it's as Ann said: The literature said you would go back to your old level of symptoms once the augmentation and withdrawal wore off, but a number of us were convinced that was not the case, that in fact there was a long-term or perhaps permanent worsening....

Re: Dipyridamole

Re methotrexate , and further to Holland's comments, they specifically note the dangers of adenosine agonists in the RLS-adenosine paper (p9). That's why they tried an ENT1 inhibitor - as sort of a work-around. Holland: I know what you mean about second half of day, and not knowing what normal is. I...
