A couple of years ago I managed to reduce my pramipexole to .125, butt it was a hellish experience and ultimately doctor Trotti of EMORY sleep center advised staying on that small amount. Fast forward to today and I have augmentation worse than ever. So I'm going to have to get off it. I've since m...

wow. Wonder if it would be effective for any of us who don't have a known spinal injury.

yawny I was sure you had mentioned the capsules being a trigger before. I searched but couldn't find it. Maybe it was someone else.

Re: Histamine/Tyramine Food Triggers
If you needed to actually change the gut biome to see changes - for example, you, Beth - it would take months. If you needed to change a histamine reaction, you would likely tell immediately. Both related to food, but very different processes and reasons. True. I think I was saying that yawny & pam...

Re: 1st post after 24 years of RLS
There are a lot of opioids out there. It is quite possible that one of them will have an acceptable side-effect profile in you. But 6 months is a long wait and the experimentation will make it even longer.

Re: going "cold turkey"
hi retiredfg5 did you try re-starting at 0.125? Maybe it's not too late to try dropping it? Cuz 0.25 is the max you should take. You have no room to increase it when you begin to augment again. You should, in fact, not increase it, but immediately stop the pramipexole when the augmentation returns. ...

Re: What's the deal with magnesium?
I was reading the current clinical trials for RLS/WED and one of the ongoing trials was for testing Magnesium. They were using Mg Citrate at 200 mgs a day. I realized that I was not getting the RDA for Magnesium so I upped my intake. I think it helped my RLS. I don't know the results of the trial/s...

Re: Stressless Chairs
For what it's worth, my brother thought he had severe RLS/WED for years. Then he had back surgery - what he thought was RLS was not it at all! Well, part of it was, but a lot of it was not. Now he has very mild symptoms only here and there. Ann, when I read this I wondered if maybe he did have a fo...

Re: Chiropractor
A lot of people seem to be able to relate their WED/RLS symptoms to a spinal-nerve impingement or other spinal issue. So there might be something to it for a subset of us.

Re: Clonazepam and Doctors
My neurologist also offered to do a liquid clonazepam so I can gradually reduce the dose and I think that's the direction I'm going to go. I'm glad it gives some people here relief. For me, the relief I initially found with this drug is gone and I just want it out of my life. I have not, thankfully...

Re: Is your DA causing augmentation?
I am looking for advice to find out what would be safe for breast-feeding. Opiates are out of the question Hi and welcome. Why are opiates out of the question? Because there is a risk of respiratory depression in the baby? You would have to watch Baby carefully, but it is my understanding that opio...

Re: New member seeking advice
my Dr (who works in a sleep clinic and so presumably has expertise) There is a wide range of sleep disorders, and your doctor is not likely to be expert in every one of them, especially not a tricky one like WED/RLS. I would add that DAs such as Mirapex can cause the RLS to worsen. My personal expe...

Re: Newbie
Your doctor may not be aware of the 2018 guidelines to treatment of WED/RLS with iron. The paper is the second one in the page linked to in my signature. If you have access to a printer, it might be a good idea to download and print it, and offer it to your doctor next appointment. On the other hand...
