Re: Managing RLS and Parkinson's

Good morning, Wondering if anyone has RLS and Parkinson's and how they are being managed with medications. Concerned about use of Sinemet along with Neupro patch, particularly for augmentation. Husband has been on Sinemet 25 mg three times a day since October 2022, Rotigotine patch 4mg nightly for ...

Re: Associations between RLS & Asperger's & Other conditions

Can anyone address the frustrating association between RLS and Asperger's, myoclonus, hypnic jerks, benign fasciculation syndrome, insomnia, brain vibrations? While I have severe RLS - - - - my son, who is 43 ---- has suffered for 2 years with a variety of symptoms. It started with muscle twitches ...

For about two years now, the neurologist slowly took me off the DA and increased the gabapentin. It has been pretty effective.
I like this news. Too often I assume it can't be done. Are you on nothing but gabapentin now?

Re: Possible link between RLS and CVI

And yet - - there is always the chance that for some of us, there is a link. It is tempting to pooh-pooh it all, but I can't quite. viewtopic.php?p=105214#p105214

Re: Cured

At age 51 my RLS is cured. I had a stone stuck in my billiary system-distal common bile duct. MRCP showed dilation in the billiary system. I had an ERCP to remove the stone. I can drink coffee and eat chocolate with zero RLS symptoms. As far as I can tell a stone can disrupt digestion which is why ...

Re: Thank you for the welcome

So sorry your post wasn't answered earlier by anyone. The fexofenadine is a second-gen antihistamine, so it shouldn't make your WED/RLS worse. 35 is seriously low. As long as you avoid dopamine meds (levo-carbidopa/Sinemet, or dopamine agonists like pramipexol and ropinirole) you might find relief s...

Re: Ferritin in the brain

My blood ferritin is around 80.
80 is pretty low. People with WED/RLS are advised to try to get it up to 100

Re: Published Research - General Sleep and RLS (WED)

The glymphatic system is involved in WED. Ya, that's what I said, too: The What? The article about it being involved in WED: https://academic.oup.com/sleep/advance-article-abstract/doi/10.1093/sleep/zsad239/7272665?login=false An article that explains what it is (too bad we have to buy these but at ...

They also showed that leg oxygen levels partially improved after dopamine medicine was restarted.3 Reduced leg oxygen levels ...

Re: Got my Iron Results!!

Hi Stainless, a year late. I don't come here much anymore. I only did the one iron treatment, then covid got in the way, then I signed up for the Gupta Program and the Dynamic Neural Retraining Program (both take advantage of neuroplasticity to re-wire the limbic system and related parts of the brai...

Re: New here

Betty said "The fact that your doctor has not checked your Ferritin makes me wonder how experienced he is in the treatment of rls. Most of us find we need to be proactive in our treatment and educate our doctors." This is so true! Another sign that he doesn't know how to treat WED/RLS is that he let...

Re: Decades of RLS getting worse

What benefits might a drug holiday bring? I understand the "costs": pain getting off oxy, risking further augmentation, pharmacy/doc hassles, but unclear about the benefit it might bring. Hi sorry I'm so late getting back. The benefit would be to eliminate any dependence you've developed for the me...
