Re: Moving from Ropinirole to Horizant

How much iron are you taking and what kind? If you take iron sulfate or fumarate in pills of 65 mg elemental iron, which are commonly prescribed types, you might feel results in as little as 2 or 3 weeks if you're taking enough (some people need two pills a day, or even 3). Take vitamin C (500 mg) w...

Re: Is it Only Me ?

I bet most of our members could relate to these feelings, at least some of the time. I certainly do. I avoid anything requiring emotional sensitivity or anything requiring complex judgements unless they occur during my "good" times... basically 6AM to noon. Chronic sleep deprivation has t...

sleepdancer It sounds like you've succeeded in doing something I tried but couldn't figure out how to do. I read in the book "Explain Pain", by David Butler, how people in chronic pain have ingrained neural reflexes (so to speak) that relay the pain signal to the brain. It began as a real ...

Re: New to Site; hello to all

I'm beginning to think it's just personal to the individual RLS sufferer.
There's a lot to be said for that idea. Ann has been saying for years how the disease presents differently in different people, and there must be variants of it.

Re: New to Site; hello to all

congratulations on the coffee culling. It is very hard. I found the only way to do it was to quit completely - I couldn't say "I'll just have one cup, and nothing after 11 AM" or anything like that, because if I had one, I would eventually have more. It might help to think of sugar this wa...

Plus I don't want to deal with her creepy husband.. When she remarried she chose a child molester who had just gotten out of prison. They are totally enmeshed and when I call he lays on the guilt too: "Your mother will be happy to talk to you," etc. I know she talks to him about her relat...

Re: Is it Only Me ?

Oh my. Christmas is hard in so many ways. Betty, you get much less sleep than a person needs, and that can impact every aspect of your mental well-being. Never under-estimate the impact of chronic sleep loss. On top of that, you sound like you might be in a state of constant, low-grade anxiety. How ...

How amazing. I don't think you've mentioned your artistic bent on here before. So many things we lose when the disease is raging.

Welcome pattyann!

Today we welcome pattyann, who has had WED/RLS since she was young, when her doctor told her it was growing pains. What she has been through since will sound familiar to most of us. She's desperate for a solution, has tried meds some of which helped for a while but they always quit working - when yo...

Your gut instinct is unlikely to be wrong. You are perhaps feeling that you might have put him in his place at the time. And perhaps also feeling that you might have been aware that he was a fraud. That you missed the opportunity to deal with his behaviour at the time. Betty is bang-on, as usual. I...

I don't know how insurance works in USA, probably depends on your insurer. I got my doctor to write a prescription, but I don't know if my insurance will cover any of it. I have given up on it - for now - because the Canadian supplier stopped carrying it, and then I decided I was more likely to bene...

Gee I don't see how he can imagine that short-acting would do the trick. It needs to last longer than 4 hours! Otherwise we get up in 4 hrs, take another pill, wait 15 min for it to kick in, and yay if nothing goes wrong we have 8 hours of broken sleep and never get to sleep in. Boo hiss. I would no...
