Percocet/Vicodin Banned by FDA

FDA Panel Votes to Ban Vicodin, Percocet Patients may be asking about news articles regarding an FDA advisory panel's recommendation to ban the painkillers Percocet and Vicodin, citing the danger posed to the liver by products combining narcotics with acetaminophen. The FDA does not have to heed the...

I'm about 4.5 weeks post ESI and it has just wore off... my legs are awful again. I wish someone would do a study on the whole spine- RLS connection. I can't do ESI the rest of my life--- but I would be willing to do traction or perhaps some back stretches, etc- to lesson my symptoms.

I think in addition to what Zach is saying, Stogart, there is also another possibility that I think I ran into with the dopamine agonists. I was unable to get to a dose that may have worked due to the side-effects and horrendous augmentation of symptoms. So when doctors tell me I don't have RLS beca...

Minneapolis doesn't either. On paper we "do" but when I went to see them, I got the same response that Keana got. Actually, Ann, your suggestion to me a while back to go back to my family doc was probably the best advice I have ever been given.... He basically said "you've tried every...

Hi Keana- I'm replying late to this but here are some ideas: 1) ask folks here if anyone is seeing someone in your area that is good. Word of mouth is the best way to find a good provider 2) consider making an appt with a pain clinic. They may be more open to reading the Mayo alorithm and be willing...

Sojourner-- I have somewhat started experiencing what you described... the further I get from my injection date, the more my RLS seems to be returning. But it is overall better than before. I think what I was most impressed within the first few weeks was the remarkable affect this procedure had on m...

Epidural Steroids

Hi all- LTNS. I just wanted to pop in and let you know my latest treatment method that seems to be working pretty well. After years of being on oxycontin, my RLS symptoms were still constantly present (though MUCH better than taking nothing). I finally ended up at a pain clinic a few months ago beca...

I totally agree with Ann, here. Can antidepressants worsen RLS?- you bet. So the use of these drugs to treat RLS does not seem warranted. However, if you DO have depression-- there is absolutely no reason why you can't try these drugs and figure out which one will work best for you. Depression is a ...

Hi Helen-- wow, long thread! Sorry you're going through so much hell right now. I'm trying to get the gist of exactly what's going on with you, so forgive me if I'm confused. Here are my thoughts: 1) The heat issues you are mentioning can be caused by quite a few things: your recent hormones, reboxe...

Jitter- I think you need to go back to your neuro in May and get more testing-- you may need an EMG on your legs to rule out neuropathy-- as sometimes neuropathy shows up really weird. You may also need an MRI to rule out demyelinating diseases. My other thought is-- you should see a pain specialist...

Yesterday I ran out of oxycontin-- and had yet to pick up my refill. I was shocked out how bad my RLS was without the oxycontin in my system! I tried to sleep without it and was miserable. My wife suggested I take a small sliver of one of her old suboxone tablets. (she had taken it 6 months ago to g...

Zach-- I'm going to respectfully ask that you keep your political views out of this section of the forum. While your concern around government involvement is valid-- to blame a single person or party is only going to upset people and detract from the important work ahead of us to assure our voice is...

Politics not withstanding-- CNN just sent out a release with more info saying this likely will not go into effect until 4th quarter/end of this year. So we have some time to make our voices heard. I would highly encourage everyone to contact the FDA, local and national Pain/RLS organizations (and pe...

So I did a bit more research on this FDA decision this AM and the more I'm reading, the more concerned I'm getting. In the near future, the FDA will be requiring-- 1.Health care providers who prescribe the drug have particular training or experience, or are specially certified; 2.pharmacies, practit...
