Daytime restlessness?

I have had RLS for many, many years and have had it pretty much under control for quite awhile. Lately I have noticed that unless I am really engrossed in what I am doing, I just get this restless feeling. Somewhat like my legs feel at night but not as extreme and it feels like it is an all-over bod...

Re: RLS friendly drug for major anxiety

Somewhere in this conversation was the information that untreated sleep apnea can cause anxiety and/or depression. Anytime you lose sleep for an extended period of time, that can be the case. You really need to address all the sleep issues first before trying new meds. CPAP machines are not fun and ...

Old/New

Rubyslipper here, and it has been a long time since I was on here. I used to be pretty faithful and then things happened. I was on the BOD for the Foundation for a few years and am now working with sleep apnea and sleep problems in general. But my first concern has been and always will be with RLS. ...

Not new but long time

It is so good to see that this discussion board is still going strong! Thank you to the moderators who do a great job here. I used to be on here a lot but things happened and then I was on the board of directors and didn't feel comfortable posting. However, I am back and eager to visit and learn fro...

Re: Piggybacking

Why not cover it with plexiglass or some other clear thing like that? Then if you ever wanted to take it apart you could. To answer my own question, I paint craft items like wine glasses for weddings, I have had two short stories published (I love to write), I do counted cross-stitch and my own form...

Piggybacking

I am piggy-backing on the below post about "what do you do". I know and have heard of some very talented people who have WED/RLS. No idea whether the disease brought out the creativity or not (probably not) but it is interesting. So what I want to know is this--what do you do during those ...

Re: don't you just love ........

I understand how bad that sounds but it doesn't truly reflect who you are. You aren't "'Emotionally unstable personality disorder"--that's just something you have. Instead you are you--with good qualities that outweight the bad, up days and down days, a friend, wife....add your own words, ...

Re: Boys !!

That is sooo funny! I have three daughters and they are all good about birthdays and such but my middle daughter is the really thoughtful one. So far though, they haven't forgotten to sign their names!

Re: Temperpedic Mattresses

That's what we did before buying this mattress. We tried one out at a hotel plus we spent the night at a friends house and they let us sleep on theirs. When you put out that kind of money, it pays to do your homework and try it out the best you can. Everyone (except one person) who I know has a temp...

Re: The Mrs and councellors who suck

I just started with a counselor last month for reasons beyond RLS/WED, although we talk about that too. I was lucky, she is great. Finding the right one can be hard, just like finding a doctor who will deal with RLS. Plus, as Views said, you have to know what kind of treatment will best suit you. I ...

Re: Temperpedic Mattresses

My daughter has one and I slept on it one night--didn't like it. For me it seemed like it was harder to turn over. Plus I got hot--seemed like it held heat more and that is NOT what I need! Although I did just purchase a mattress heater and there are times when it is really nice. I have fibormyalgia...

Re: Is it really that bad?

I have talked to very few people who do not have this problem. Most things seem worse at night but with RLS/WED it is severe. I think Views has it right when she says that it could be a chemical imbalance in the brain. When my legs start up I just panic. Why? I know I will survive although tomorrow ...

Re: Zoloft

Hey, I know YOU guys aren't armed but there are others out there who are!! Honestly, thanks for the feed-back and support. My first night was not good. The legs were acting up for awhile but that isn't anything new. I did not sleep well though. Since I have started taking Horizant, my sleep has impr...

Re: Zoloft

Thanks so much for the support and information. I guess I was expecting flack because others have been so against trying an SSRI because of the side-effects with RLS. But you are both right, I need to see how it affects me. I start on it tomorrow, a lower dose for 10 days, then a little more. My doc...

Zoloft

While I am quite aware of the effects SSRI's have with RLS, at this point I am desperate. A new doctor has prescribed Zoloft, low dose, one in the morning. I am going to try it for awhile and see how it goes. Has anyone else used this medication? I'll probably take some flack from some people for ta...
