Re: Medication for irregular use

Thanks, Ann. I worry about doing even more damage to my dopamine receptors, but at some point the potential relief may outweigh that concern. Since a trip to CO a few months ago, I've been taking Marijuana gummies when away from home, and that has helped somewhat, but MJ is not legal in MN for recre...

Medication for irregular use

Anyone have any ideas of a drug I can take irregularly to deal with my RLS? Quick recap of my RLS story...Sinemet CR, then Mirapex for about 15 years or so (fairly low dose...1st .25 mg, then increased to .375 mg), nightmarish withdrawal after augmentation set in, then Lyrica for about a year, now d...

Re: For Anyone Who Thinks RLS is a Joke

I have actually been contemplating going totally off medication and living whatever life I have left in my natural state. After being on medications for roughly 15 years (first DA’s, then Lyrica), I went through the same process…wondering what life would be like off meds. I always suspected the med...

Re: Camping

I'm an RLS camper. Started in a tent, then pop-up, now travel trailer. Wasn't much of an issue pre-augmentation. I'm off meds now and up multiple times per night with symptoms, and it does concern me a bit anytime I travel, whether camping or hotel. I just deal with it, same as I would at home. I ju...

I tried Restiffic. It did not work for me. I was able to return it for a full refund. Hope it works for you.

Re: Potassium Citrate

By chance, can you share the link to that YouTube video or videos? Thanks! Here is the link: m After watching the video again, I had to laugh when he says RLS is "very easy to fix" . Also, what dosage of Potassium Citrate did you take during your trial? I took approx. 3,000 mg/day. My und...

Re: Potassium Citrate

Potassium Citrate can only be obtained by prescription I just stumbled across this topic and coincidentally I just finished a 2 month trial on Potassium Citrate. I found out about it on YouTube. I'm off all prescriptions now and with my doctor's blessing, I'm currently trying different natural prod...

Re: Neurologist Has No Clue

Is it OK to keep increasing Lyrica without any problem. I can share my experience on this. I got off pramipexole (.375 mg) two years ago. I went to Mayo Clinic (Dr. Silber), and he prescribed 300 mg Lyrica to help with the DA withdrawal symptoms. After two days of hell, I contacted Dr. Silber and a...

Re: New, first rx for pramipexole, not sure about it.

My doctor also recommended I cut back the Lyrica to 75 mg to deal with the fatigue, but I'm not ready for that quite yet. Maybe next summer. I'll probably go off cold turkey for 2-3 weeks, then if needed come back at 75 mg instead of 150 mg. After the year I've had, I don't want to mess with my slee...

Re: New, first rx for pramipexole, not sure about it.

I have struggled a bit with daytime sleepiness and fatigue. I actually made a doctor's appointment last month because of this, and he ordered a bunch of labs. Everything checked out OK. It seems to have improved since I started taking a Vitamin B-complex and Vitamin D3. It's mostly in the afternoon,...

Re: New, first rx for pramipexole, not sure about it.

I've switched to Lyrica (150 mg/night) per Dr. Silber at Mayo. During my appointment last November, he indicated they'd had a lot of success switching augmented RLS patients over to Lyrica. After a year on Lyrica, I would say my sleep is as good as it was when I was augmenting on Mirapex (up an aver...

Re: New, first rx for pramipexole, not sure about it.

I know you are suffering now, but I would put a great deal of thought (I'm sure you have already) into going on meds. You indicated you've had RLS "on and off" for years and it's gotten quite bad in the last month. Has anything changed in the last month to cause this flare up? It could be ...

Re: Restiffic and Relaxis Information

I've ordered the Restiffic foot wraps as well...$300 is for the pair. I agree they are overpriced, especially considering they indicate they should be replaced every six months. They may last longer than that, but they are only warrantied for 6 months. I've had issues trying to correctly place the b...

Re: Off to see my sleep dude and get my eyes cut open

Glad you are happy with the results so far, and hope things continue to improve for you. But they presented me with a third option, called SMILE (SMall-incision Lenticule Extraction) Never heard of this before...might have to look into it. I also shared your Lasik concerns about dry eyes and flap is...

Re: Question about pharmas, augmentation, etc...

If I were to completely wean myself off of all drugs, would my symptoms go back to what they were before I took any meds or have I created a cycle in which my body will always "need" the drugs for normalcy? Theoretically, this should happen eventually. It will likely be a long and unpleas...
