Rotigotine patch
hello everyone, I haven't been able to log in for a while, but here I am now. Since I last posted I managed to get my Ferratin levels up to 53 (they are due to be read again around about now and I do expect them to be higher), and I have been prescribed a 1mg Rotigotine patch instead of Ropinirole (...

Re: 5-Year Data on Rotigotine Patch for Restless Leg Syndrom
A Rotigotine patch is one of the next possible steps mentioned by my neurologist when I eventually stop Ropinirole. I live in Scotland so it must be available here. Does anyone have any experiences with it? Any info is welcome.

Re: Iron??
This report about ferratin levels gives me a little more hope. My Ferratin levels were at 11, and as my Doctor at the time and I didn't know any better, she prescribed and I was only to glad to take Ropinirole. And of course I have augmented, as many of you will know from reading my many posts on he...

Re: Ropinirole and Tramodol
Not doing as well as I'd hoped I would. I am now on night 14 of the withdrawal from Ropinirole, and I had hopes the RLS would have calmed down. It has been less of a nightmare this time, certainly, but here it is, Christmas Eve, and yet again my partner Colin, and I are getting our coats on and havi...

Oh, I don't know what is working and what isn't. I completely understand and agree I need to come off the Ropinirole. That is my aim. Last night I managed to sleep till 4 am from 10pm, all in one go. I woke myself (insomnia) the RLS didn't wake me. I will take your advice and write to Dr Buchfuhrer,...

Polar bear, yes I probably would have been better to try that the first few times I reduced, it was horrendous. But I must say, this time has been quite different. I was expecting to go through hell again, but I think the pregabalin has made a difference. Last time I reduced I was waking at 1 am wit...

Still sleeping better, though this morning I have been awake from 4.10 am, not because of the RLS. I have Ropinirole induced Insomnia, and try as I might, I couldn't get back to sleep! But at least while I was lying there dog-tired I could at least keep my legs still! Today hasn't been as good a day,...

I am now on night 6 of using Pregabalin and Ropinirole. I have had 6 much better nights sleep, and funnily enough the days are slightly better too. I have a feeling the Pregabalin is covering up some of the augmentation, which is great right now, but I'm not daft enough to think the augmentaion has ...

Moonlight, I understand completely your frustration at the lack of knowledge here in the UK. My doctor seems willing to listen to me when I suggest things, I'm lucky. But ignorance about RLS is widespread in the UK. I also live in Scotland, like you, and I also have pounded the streets, Edinburgh an...

I have given my doctor a copy of the Mayo Algorithm, she said she would read it, I hope she meant it. I did wonder about the Ropinirole, I told her my objective was to get off it and on to something else. She made the right noises... But I am seeing my Neurologist on the 6th and I will go into more d...

hi my friends. Well, my Doc suggested I try the next med on the list from my neuro, Pregabalin, or Lyrica, as it says on the box. I have to start at 75mg at night with my 2mg Ropinirole, and another 75mg in the morning (no Ropinirole). I have to do this for approx 5 - 7 days then if ok stay at that ...

I am on Ropinirole (Requip) and the contra indications do warn that it can cause sudden somnolence (sleepiness), and it does. |It has happened to me four times now, 3 of them while I was out walking, and I had to literally stop at a bus stop or somewhere that I could actually sit or lean against som...
