Re: How long does it take for Lyrica to start working?

I couldn't tolerate the foggy brain feeling from Lyrica, i couldn't even safely drive while taking it. Gabapentin worked well but the day time sleepiness was difficult to deal with while I was adjusting to it - but it did go away after a few weeks. I believe I was taking 1800 mgs. Because I found th...

Re: What med cocktail works for you??

I have tried about 20 meds. Every time I have a medical person look at my med list and comment on how many meds I take, I know they know nothing about RLS. Its so difficult to manage and you have to constantly change the cocktail to have a few weeks/months peace. Your regime is particularly interes...

Re: What med cocktail works for you??

I continue to find it helpful to read of other peoples regimes and totally understand why you ask. Thank you, I am finding it very helpful. We're all different and we all experience RLS differently, but there is still much we can glean from what others are doing. After all that's why we have this b...

Re: What med cocktail works for you??

mutsy67 - I'm not convinced that the amitryptiline does much to help me sleep either but it is also considered to be helpful for fibromyalgia. The opiate that you take for small fibre neuropathy should also be helpful with your RLS symptoms. It has been suggested I have fibro...but there are many o...

Re: What med cocktail works for you??

And I totally understand about your concerns with hyponatremia. My sodium levels naturally tend to run on the low side and I have experienced clinical hyponatremia during several marathons that I have run. Throwing up is never fun and is really embarrassing when it is on the street in front of hund...

Re: What med cocktail works for you??

For RLS I take Ropinerole 4mg which is spread over the 24 hour period (yes 4mg is much too high, I started on it when 4mg was an acceptable daily dosage). Also Tramadol ER 50mg x 2 daily Also Cocodamol 30/500 x 4 daily. Note: I also take Citalopram 10mgs mornings and Amitryptiline 50mg at night (fo...

Re: What med cocktail works for you??

Ann, I understand completely, but if you would like to share the things that you were able to take together with some success, that would be helpful to me. And maybe to others as well. Although it's quite possible others aren't as confused as I am (also researching meds and all the supplements requi...

Re: What med cocktail works for you??

Thanks Steve, very helpful. Is the thc really common for folks on here? I do live in a state with medical marijuana, but after suffering with undiagnosed hyponatremia (caused from a medication) for many years the thought of a altered state is so scary to me...I never want that feeling again - grante...

Re: Meds, ferritin, supplements, mthfr, etc

Thank you Steve and Holland, I am about 6-7 hour drive to San Diego and agree with your advice that a visit there would be best, just not sure I can swing it right now. I may go ahead and make an appointment though since it could be months out. I too had reactions to Neupro Holland. Tried spraying t...

What med cocktail works for you??

The stickies in this section of the board lists so many possibilities that my head hurts. I will have to research each one for possible restrictions to all the other meds I take for autoimmune and endocrine diseases, so would kind of like an idea on what others mix & match with success. Especial...

Re: Discussion of Adenosine paper

I have had to wear earplugs since I was about eighteen years old because I am so easily awakened by noise. I have not slept without them for 55 years, I cannot. I also have a massive startle response during the day, and I am hypersensitive to noise and to other sensory inputs..... I always have bee...

Re: Meds, ferritin, supplements, mthfr, etc

I also have been taking cyclobenzaprine 10 mgs for many years (muscle relaxer) Have lidoderm patches and pain creams to use And use stretches (contract & hold) and hand massagers (that are so painful it's hard to use them, feels like I'm going over areas that are seriously bruised, but of course...

Meds, ferritin, supplements, mthfr, etc

I need so much help! RLS was my first disease, not nearly my last, starting when I was a toddler; I am 57 and RLS became a permanent fixture at 30 yrs. I currently take Horizant 600 mgs, requip 3 mgs, Amytriptyline 75 mgs (for SFN, small fiber neuro), lamotrigine 150 mg (divided, also for SFN), oxyc...

Hadn't read that - thanks for sharing. Have sent it to my 20 year old son who also suffers. He has serious allergies and asthma and often takes anti-histamines so it was good to see the connection in print.
