Requip

Started with .25 4 yrs ago. Now on .5 and it is not working as well. What is the next increase. .25 or .5 ? I fortunately need this only at night. Also does a glass of wine at dinner increase the RLS?

Re: Iron for low Ferritin proved beneficial?

I am taking iron due to my ferritin level being at the lower end of the normal range. I have talked to someone on another board whose anemia gets so severe she periodically gets transfusions due to being unable to tolerate any oral iron formulations. She said she can tell she needs a transfusion by...

Re: Question for tonic water users

Hi, I am new to this forum and would appreciate input from those who use tonic water for rls relief. I am 65 year old (male) and have had rls on and off for 15 years. Went through all of the popular drugs for rls. Was not able to stay on any of them long enough to tell if they worked or not. Had SE...

Re: Hot Yoga

I have had RLS all my life and it has worsened with age, contributing to insomnia, PLMS, and (potentially) sleep apnea. After trying 8 rx strength medications and several otc's, and out of sheer desperation, I tried hot yoga. I have done 10 classes and have had no RLS symptoms on the nights I do it...

Ritomko, I know you aren't addressing me, but I'll just weigh in. I "got" RLS 24/7 from a June, 2009 surgery. I believe it to have been the nerve block I was given. First my PCP was treating me, but didn't want to prescribe the hydros, so he sent me to a neurologist who also did not want ...

Ritomoko: Glad you're are going to read that book. I'll checkout that site for books. By all means see a neurologist, and I hope you find one that knows about RLS. I see a neurologist, but he even admitted that he knew little about RLS. He said I knew more about it than he did. Because I have it an...

Personally i've been on all of the Parkinson's drugs,Mirapex twice. None of them worked for me. I did start up with the RLS again after my stomach surgery..I had a very tough time of it. If you have Dr. B's book "Restless Leg Syndrome Coping With Y our Sleepless Nights." (If you don't have it you should get it. Has everything you should know about RLS.) And it mentions ice cream making some peoples RLS worse. Tramadol is like an opiod, works like an opiod for pain. My GP ...

Requip was the first I tried. In a few days of taking it I was sick at my stomach and had a migraine. My doctor just stopped the med. Probably he should have tried adjusting the dose. Then after a few more doctors I was put on Mirapex. It has worked ok. After about a year I started having bouts of ...
