Now that my ferritin is finally over 50, I only get symptoms maybe once a week. My new neurologist wants to get it higher, I forget how high he wants it, but the ferrous bisglycinate worked well for me (sulfate upset my stomach too much).

Acupuncture helps my WED a bit. I go every week or two, for other reasons, but I find that if I miss it for a month or so, the WED gets much worse.

When I try not to move, they start to HURT! Eventually the leg will move explosively, on its own.

Actually I do move my legs a lot when I sleep, but it doesn't usually wake me. You can tell which side of the bed I sleep on, because the sheet wears out twice as fast on my side :)

I used to meditate, but I found now that the RLS symptoms appear when I try to relax. I would love to be able to do mindfullness meditation again!

New Neurologist is GREAT!

I went to see a new neurologist after having MANY difficulties with my previous one. The previous one said I couldn't have augmentation after a month on Mirapex. The new one said, when I described the symptoms, "that sounds like augmentation, let me explain what that is." (I told him I cou...

Usually I have symptoms when I'm trying to sleep, but sometimes I have them just after falling asleep, and it wakes me up. Then i'm up for 2-3 hours!

I just found out about a week ago that my Vitamin D level is 9! My doctor put me on a once-weekly megadose of D, which I'll take for 12 weeks. I'm wondering if raising my vitamin D will help my WED. Raising my ferritin certainly helped!

Hurrah, after wading through red tape it turned out there was an easier way! I see my new doctor next Thursday. And not a moment too soon. The Klonopin I took last night made me so drowsy today I had to call in sick last minute because I felt drunk. Then I got hysterical because I thought I would ge...

Crossing my fingers- made request for new neurologist

With my HMO, my choices were to ask my primary care provider to re-refer me to neurology for a 2nd opinion, or ask the neurologist himself for a referral to another doctor. Since the neuro I've been seeing has been condescending, dismissive and rude (and unhelpful), I decided to ask my PCP. Hopefull...

Dave, you should be careful about how you word stuff on your website, one line caught my eye in particular: "The herbs that are part of your daily intake are COMPLETELY harmless ... so mild that a child could take them. They are NON addictive, and best of all, they don't create ANY side effects...

Doety- you're right about the klonopin being an issue with methadone. At the hospital where I work, anyone that is on a benzodiazepine plus an opiate has to get vitals every 4 hours, including oxygen saturation. Most of the doctors I work with say that the worst combo for respiratory depression is k...
