Re: How do you feel about taking Opioids for RLS?

Dr B has reassured me that long-term use of methadone is a lot safer than the other opioids, because you can use a much smaller dose and get good relief. There is usually very little augmentation on methadone, too. I think it gets a bad rap because it can be abused, and it's what they give heroin ad...

Re: Horizant Shortage

877-936-6778 is their number, if you want to tell your docs to get on the database, or if you want to give them h*ll, too. :)

Re: Horizant Shortage

Dr B didn't have any more samples. I wish he would have notified his patients- I found out the hard way, unable to make a refill. One of the pharmacists told me that there are only 4 major vendors to pharmacies, so no need to call all of them, if they are out, everyone is out. He said the major drug...

Horizant Shortage

Has anyone FOUND a pharmacy that has Horizant on the shelves?! Apparently XenoPort and GSK have had a falling out over money, and we are the ones to suffer without medicine. There is no word when it will be available again. It's disgusting how Big Pharma only cares about the Almighty $$$. I've calle...

Re: Pregnant and Miserable - Back to Methadone??

Congratulations on having twins! I am sorry to hear that one has some health issues. I agree with your docs, I have read every single last bit if research, methadone does not contribute to the health issues you are describing. I hope you are able to pursue good care in your area. Have you done genet...

Re: Trying to get pregnant on Mirapex

Hello, I see this thread is a little old, but I wanted to post a reply, in case someone else finds themselves in this situation. Mirapex and pregnancy don't mix. There are some links between cleft palate and Mirapex, and the palate forms very early on (I want to say around 5-11 weeks gestation?), so...

Horizant, Insurance Woes

Hi Everyone! It's been awhile since I last posted, I hope you're all doing well. I have been on Horizant 1200 mg for about three months now, and it is a nice complement to the Methadone. I've been having so much trouble with my insurance, however. I have gone through three denials, written letters, ...

RLS "Ambassador" Opportunity

Hello Friends, I was contacted by a pharmaceutical company (Glaxo Smith Kline) a few months ago, asking if I would be interested in their patient ambassador program. I believe they got my contact information through my doctor (Dr. B). I did express my interest, and the marketing coordinator spoke wi...

Ah, no wonder I didn't know what "DA" was. I can't take them. I augmented on Mirapex a few years ago. In fact, never went down to my "baseline" and have since had arm symptoms. Mirapex ruined me.

What's a "DA?" Vitamin D? I'm confused. Or maybe just very tired... :P

Thanks for propping me up!

Iron??

Has anyone really (I mean, REALLY?) seen a huge change in their symptoms with iron supplements? Just to rant, I called Dr. B to talk about my increasing symptoms, and he asked me to come in for an office visit. So I made an appointment for two weeks later. It takes me about an hour to get to Dr. B's...

Congratulations!!! I am glad everything is okay with his lungs now. What a scary experience. I saw your pictures on FB, what a cutie! And I saw that he was in the NICU, I was concerned. I wasn't sure if it was from the Methadone, or from something else. Now I know... and I'm sorry he was having brea...

1. RLS
2. Herniated Disc (central), L4/L5
3. Disc Degeneration, L3 through S1
4. Bone Spur L5/S1

So really, it's just my RLS and my back problems. Chronic back problems are a result of an accident in 2001. My RLS is genetic, but I think the fallout from the accident worsened the symptoms.
