Sleep Study

Hi guys. haven't been on in a few weeks, busy with doc's and what not. So I finally saw my new Neurologist.Nice, mellow guy. He is a sleep specialist as well. After a pretty thorough review of my records and a host of questioning, he thought there might be a chance of Narcolepsy, which RLS is presen...

Re: Special WED/RLS diary

Maybe we should try and have Glaxo or other big pharma companies develop this. The $2.99 suggestion certainly isn't to profit from but rather reimburse costs of Development. I'm not wealthy but would certainly shell out $3 bucks for something that could work indefinitely. This is something that take...

Re: Special WED/RLS diary

Tracey, My thoughts exactly. It has to be extremely specific and all encompassing. The algorithm correlations would need to be perfected but wit the right set of tools I'm confident most if not all of us can improve our symptoms significantly and possibly alleviate them IF we are honest, accurate an...

Special WED/RLS diary

I've seen some basic sleep diaries and some a tad more specific to WED symptoms. Just in case this is a hit for the 20-30 million or more WED sufferers, this is my copyright! LOL Actually I'm sure it's been done before and available but I'm thinking a sophisticated spreadsheet and/or app that tracks...

Although my WE'D started in both legs and remained there for many years, it's been primarily my left thigh (non-dominant) for last 6-9 months. Upper body, however, is equally throughout.

Wow! I'm so very impressed by some of the far reaching cultures and hobbies. With just a couple responses, I can only imagine the creativity we as a group have. Everyone always tells me to get a hobby to relax. Once I get some peace and quiet and time to just "chill" I hope to broaden my h...

Re: My battle with RLS.. starting to lose faith for relief

GG- I love your thoughts! keep 'em coming. That goes for all of your excellent friends! When you say I get "release" from RLS, I'm not sure I interpret that right. I do NOT get "relief" by simply moving my legs. This was an unusual example of being able to initiate the RLS by str...

Re: My battle with RLS.. starting to lose faith for relief

Check this out. I had commented a while ago about certain positions triggering my RLS. So I'm sitting in a reclined position watching tv a little while ago. All was fine. I had done my cardio rehab this afternoon and pushed a little harder on the bike and treadmill. Noticed my left leg quadricep was...

Re: Disability Claim

I agree that if you can qualify under a "standard" category then it would be advantageous to use that instead. I would think your heart condition and mental health could be primary with the RLS/WED aggravating it, so that you can't work your normal job. Lack of sleep has been shown to rai...

Nationally known RLS Doctors?

I just read a recent post about Dr. Earley and a lack of response. I spoke with Dr. Earley today via email, a few times based on his research of RLS and the hopes he can do better for me. His responses were quick, but not thorough as I am not a patient yet. I am considering Dr. B, Dr. Earley and oth...

Re: Just Joined - My Thoughts and Questions

No, the meds don't change your ferritin level, its just that the higher the level is the less chance you have of augmentation when using requip.. Do you know what your ferritin level is because what is normal for most folks (perhaps around 20) is not high enough for us. Sorry to butt in, but that's...

Re: My battle with RLS.. starting to lose faith for relief

Beth, thanks for the post. To your point on the dreams and lack of sleep, yes I have experienced sleep paralysis, shouts and yells, and auditory hallucinations. I didn't know the terms you used but they fit exactly. scared the you know what out of me.. You are also dead on about Klonapin not doing a...
