Re: RLS and the COVID Vaccine

I have not gotten the vaccine yet... too worried about possibility of having RLS get worse. However, I believe I had COVID last year in January 2020 when I got really sick and had all of the symptoms. It was a long tuff virus, but I got over it. However, I'm glad I did ask everyone here as I was sur...

COVID vaccine and RLS

I asked my doctor if he noticed if the COVID vaccine adversely impacted the RLS. Dr. Ondo didn't comment on that, because I'm assuming he's not going to claim to know something he doesn't. He did say that vaccine trials go on for years but they give updates on what they discover. Needless to say I'm...

meditation talk

I was listening to this good talk on meditation with Ajahn Brahm to talks about accepting the body, illness or whatever as it is. And to not try and "do" anything to change the symptoms. This doesn't mean not to do what you can for the RLS but it's more like when we try to control what we can't cont...

Re: Is ferritin at 558 something to worry about?

I remember when my ferritin tested at 670 and my primary care doctor at the Veterans Administration practically flipped out and lectured me on how I was damaging my liver. So grateful that I have an EXCELLENT RLS doctor, Dr. Ondo who told me there was nothing to worry about. I do know that when my f...

Re: Melatonin added to the mix

Melatonin makes my RLS worse so that is not an option for me

Re: RLS and other sleep disorders

Steve, "Often my legs are not that bad, but somehow I know that I will be up all night." That is interesting. I wonder if most of us have some sort of secondary condition that kicked the RLS into severe mode OR is exacerbating it at the very least. I wonder if this secondary condition of mine be why...

RLS and other sleep disorders

There are times I can somehow get the RLS to calm down and I'm still wide awake as if I took an amphetamine. I always thought this was part of the RLS, but my doctor (william ondo, RLS quality specialist) is saying this is something else and was honest enough to say he didn't know what it was. Whate...

Doctor and opiod crisis

I am at the max amount of my medications (horizant/gabapentin and balsomra) and my doctor is not offering to have me try anything else. I'm thinking about asking him about Lyrica and alternating it with the horizant. It would be nice to have either clonazepam or something else as an add on but docto...

Re: Biggest fear

Thanks for keeping us in the loop. Wishing you lots of healing with your cancer treatments. My biggest fear is that I will get a stroke and won't be able to move my legs at all and I will be in 24/7/365 pain without any hope in sight.

Re: healthy eating

Honestly I don't think it was the magnesium or calcium since I take those regularly and have been for many years. I like the magnesium because it's calming. Licorice root is almost like taking meds for anxiety, but you have to be careful how much you take (or there are highly damaging effects long t...

Re: healthy eating

Last night was a bad night, but I'm still hopeful it can help a little. I was surprised that it helped as much as it did for a whole week. I think it's important be open but also to keep the expectations in balance, particularly for us long time sufferers where nothing seems to work. There were thin...
