Recent restrictions on length of opioid prescriptions
Hi everyone who is reading this. I am wondering if anyone has found out via their doctor or pharmacy whether or not the recent restrictions by CVS and Walmart (announced today) to limit opioid prescriptions to no more than 7 days applies to those of us who take an opioid such as methadone to control...

Xanax and RLS-WED
I have a question that I am hoping someone who has had a similar experience can help with. I have severe RLS and am on a long acting opioid for this. The long acting opioid (methadone) does a great job with controlling about 90% of my creepy-crawly RLS symptoms, however it does not help much with th...

Re: Augmentation
I've been told by my current doctor that cymbalta can make RLS-WED symptoms worse. I'm taking it as well, and I would concur with him. I went down on it but my anxiety returned. I may try switching to Wellbutrin, as it does not Make the symptoms worse. Recently I have had the pain in my upper right ...

Re: Pain associated with RLS/WED
I know. I agree with the idea of replacing what's not working, or trying to find the least offensive med that can Di the trick but to go without for 3-6 months is just shy of complete torture. There is no way possible that I would've lasted more than a few nights.

Re: Pain associated with RLS/WED
The Mayo Clinic was NOT helpful at all. In fact, the dr that saw me gave me horrible advice. The advice was simply, "to stop all meds for 3-6 months and then reintroduce the dopamine agonists that I augmented on in the first place." The only good thing that came as a result of my visit was...

Re: Augmentation
The hydrocodone that I used during the period following my stoppage of the Requip handled about 75% of my RLS symptoms. I would've loved to have had something a bit stronger but that was the only thing my doc at the time was willing to give me. It is extremely frustrating to have so few doctors unde...

Re: How long does requip withdrawal last???
My withdrawal took about 5 weeks an was not fun in any way. By the way, my RLS has remained 24/7 but dr b has been a godsend on finding treatments that give us hope. I too, wanted to amputate me legs!

Re: Recommendation for RLS doctor
I want to thank all of you who recommended that I get in touch with Dr. B. I flew to Downey and met with him yesterday. He has given me my life back. Sounds dramatic but those of you with 24/7 symptoms will totally understand. What a breath of fresh air it is to finally find a doctor who "gets ...

Re: Awkward question about sex and RLS
I actually am experiencing the opposite of some of these responses. I am the one with RLS-WED and my wife is too nervous to touch me (despite my encouragement). She sees the pain I'm in as well as the leg movements, etc and regardless of my encouragement, says she gets too stressed out and worried, ...

Awkward question about sex and RLS
Very awkward but relevant question here regarding something that I'm guessing is an issue in many RLS marriages. When one spouse has refractory RLS which includes leg pain, creepy crawlies, agitation and all of the other wonderful components of RLS-WED, and the other spouse is highly sensitive and s...

Re: Opiates and RLS-WED
Ha! Thanks, Tracy. I agree with you... I actually got in touch with Dr. B last night and am flying to California to meet with him on April 10th. I'm looking forward to meeting with someone who specializes in this dreadful disease.
