Re: 5-htp

I found mention of 5-htp in relation to Parkinson's and other movement disorders. It seems that some people with RLS do benefit from it. I am taking it myself for sleep but I don't have RLS. 5-htp

My dauhgter (9) has RLS (and some autoimmune issues). I am thinking of her trying 5-htp. Did anyone have experience with it?
What dose? etc.
thanks in advance,

Re: new diagnosis child

A follow up: I am the original poster. It turned out that our child probably has PANDAS or PANS and that RLS is only one of her symptoms.
Apparently, PANDAS RLS connection is rare but not unheard of.
thanks to everyone who responded.

Re: new diagnosis child

we could also make a library of case studies containing an in detail description of your or your child's WED. since this condition seems to differ greatly btw individuals, case studies are the only that could give some guidance. I still feel I don't know enough to do this for my daughter's WED.

Re: new diagnosis child

yes, the same person. thanks to all who responded. It is hard for someone who does not have WED to understand what is going on. I appreciate it very much.

Re: new diagnosis child

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately no, our daughter has not been taking any of the usual triggers of RLS, not even ice-cream. Celiac is also out -- she had a genetic test because her father does have celiac. You use the phrase "when RLS is active". Can you explain that? So far, our exper...
