Re: Email to new RLS friend

oh, good. I was hoping I wasnt spamming everyone with a long email You know, right after I sent this and posted it on the board I found a bunch of Iron topic threads posted here and learned I'm way out of date on what it all means. So yes, either I have to find my results or get another test done. O...

Re: A List of Natural Remedies that Will Lessen your RLS

I am so happy I decided to come to the board today and check out the Non-Pharma section!!! Dwimble, what you state on your website and blog (the little that I've read in a few mins) is EXACTLY where I'm planning to focus my next round of attention to battle this disease. I was planning on doing an a...

Re: Wait - do I have WED?

Yep, totally agree. And thats how I've felt all along - alot of variants and hard to tell. Thats why I'm thinking its PS triggering secondary WED, just a hypothesis. Nope, my ortho is not sure is PS. B/c its a "syndrome" too its not easy to diagnose. We did xrays and an MRI of my pelvis an...

Re: Wait - do I have WED?

Hi all, I posted this last week and then havent had a chance to come back. Thanks for all of the responses! So a few more points of feedback - Have I tried a dopamine agonist? Yes! I'm actually on it now. I should've given a quick background on meds. I started on Requip/Ropinerole about a year ago a...

Wait - do I have WED?

Hi, I've thought I've been suffering from WED for years now. And am focusing on something called Piriformis syndrome. But then I'm thinking maybe its not WED. Then I found a post by ViewsAskew in a sticky in the "Just Joined" section. B/c its a sticky its closed, so I thought I'd post my q...

Re: Chem + Nature = Relief

Great post! Right along the lines of what I've been trying to get to. NO silver bullet, no magic medicine. I've learned, and truly believe, its a combination of natural, pharmaceutical, healthy living, and routine. Still working on the right combination but soon I envision myself posting a similar t...

Re: Just Joined - My Thoughts and Questions

Hi all, back for an update after a month. Thanks so much for the input and support. So last week I had a follow up with my doc. We talked about a plan and I told him how it was very difficult. For background, here's my progression: June 2010 - first noticed WED affecting my sleep to the point I was ...

Re: Horizant

I've been looking for someone who has taken Horizant. I couldn't take Gabapentin or Lyrica due to excruciating headaches. After a month I finally gave up and we started decreasing the dose. I was down to a child's dose when the headaches finally stopped, but it wasn't effective then either. I'm hop...

Wow Ann. All I can say is that I am so sorry to hear how bad it is for you. That list of side effects is HORRIBLE! Every time I start to feel bad about myself I read about someone else''s horror stories on here. And then I think how lucky we are to have this forum. ann, hang in there. in my short ti...

Re: Anyone else tried vicodin?

I have used Vicodin for 15 to 20 years with no side effects and a sustained symptom relief. It was originally prescribed by Dr. Earley, a researcher and sleep therapist at Johns Hopkins. I take three (3) 5 x 500 hydrocodone daily and it has worked consistently for as long as I have had the problem....

Re: Mirapex/Augmentation/TENS

Hi Deb, In your subject and original post you mention a TENS machine. Do you mean an eltronic muscle stim machine? If so, I used one in the past that seemed to help a bit before I moved to pharma. Also, someone mentioned the extended release form of gabapentin. Thee over the counter name, I think, i...

Re: Just Joined - My Thoughts and Questions

Ok, so I'm at a point where I need to make an important decision. My last (and also first) meeting with the Sleep Specialist (mentioned earlier) the plan was to get me started on the Gabapentin and slowly take me off of the Requip (if possible). Then, once off the requip, bring me back on but at a v...
