Re: I'm finally here....

Welcome Dreamer, You came to right place to find the information you need to help you and your doc find the best treatment for you. An informed patient helps a Doc figure out what is right for you. I agree with the not giving blood part, your already low on iron, giving it away won't help. Perhaps y...

Re: Please post the number of PLMS you have. PLease!

My last sleep study they got me down to 26 "movements" an hour and waking up "only" 14 times an hour. They consider this mild WED/RLS if that helps at all.

Re: sativa vs. indica

Hmmm..... Too much indica around here, will have to find some somewhere. I know I do feel better on sativa, the head stone makes sense, since most of brain is fired up all day anyways trying to combat a crappy situation. Hell, I do arithmatic in my head sometimes as I pace just to take my mind off t...

Re: "Treatable???"

Yeah, okay. Perhaps the majority of people who have it don't need treatment or their treatment goes well. But for who have a hard time controlling this, it minimizes our treatment. The doctors think they should be able to throw a pill at you and your fine. The ones who can't control their symptoms g...

But it's gonna take that awareness-raising campaign to get real funds moving.

"Treatable???"

I am still confused as to why, no matter where I go concerning info on WED/RLS, the first thing I see is "RESTLESS LEGS SYNDROME (RLS) is a common and treatable physical disorder estimated to affect 5% to 10% of adults in some countries.. This sounds like more Doctor "mumbo jumbo" to ...

Re: new diagnosis child

Sorry to hear your 8yr old might have WED/RLS. I know as a child I didn't have much "crawling" sensation, but it was hard to sit still for long without my brain being "absorbed" by what I was doing at the moment. If it didn't interest me, it was useless to me. I used to run to sc...

Re: Itching and RLS?

Yes, indeed. I often wished I'd of been born with a 'normal' disease, but none of them are normal. Or at least one that made sense and responded to drugs like it should. Lets just keep up hope they put more money and research into it and finally get us some relief.

Re: I'm back)

Haha) The army of the Nightwalkers begins to assemble!! How scary is an army that owns the darkness!!! But instead of bullets and guns we will use words and printers. Our bombs will be emails and letters to newspapers. We will keep fighting until the last doctor no longer dismisses this disease. Wow...

Re: I'm back)

Thanks Beth) Sounds like solid advice to me. But I think it's time to start ranting to the government for now. It is a relief knowing someone out there understands us and we have somewhere to go to get help from good soldiers like yourself and everyone else here) Think how horrible it would be if th...

Re: Young child with PLMD

Well 15 000 000 people can't be wrong or lieing. What, we ALL had a sit down and decided to hatch this dasterdly plan to harass the Dr.s? Then got more people convinced they are hypercondriacs?? Haha, I wish, then we all could go back to being "normal" and tell em "you were right, we'...

Re: I'm back)

Thanks) That might help but I'm still frustrated with the fact that I have to go to a sleep specialist and walk him through this. He slightly nodded when I'd told him I was on simemet before and had bad reaction to it. Said take it and see what sleep study says. It got me down to mild WED fer now(ac...

Re: The Mrs and councellors who suck

Sounds like your having a harder time than me. I am alone and don't have to watch someone I love go through this and try fight of the anger issues and the depression and pain from depression on your own. I feel for you and all of us when we get that blank stare when we tell people about our disease....
