I have had a spinal stimulator for 2 years. I think it helps. After it's put in, you will have movement restrictions for 2 months, until the areas heal.
Good luck

Re: Riding the Big One (RLS 24/7, Hanging Ten)
Basically yes. It starts with the severe osteoarthritis, which causes back pain and pinched nerves, which in turn both cause my RLS. So they help.

Re: Riding the Big One (RLS 24/7, Hanging Ten)
I think my nausea is from something I'm eating. I've pretty much gotten used to the buprenorphine. I figured out 2:30pm prevents my insomnia most of the time.
I only get RLS once in awhile, as my injections where off. I'm also in the process of increasing my spinal stimulator.

Re: Opioid Tolerance
I take gabapentin 1800mg at 7:30 pm. Originally I took 600mg three times a day. My pain Doctor had me take it all three times a day. I had stopped methadone and got a spinal stimulator to replace the methadone. I also later added buprenorphine film .5mg at 2:30 pm to prevent insomnia. You might have...

Re: Medications timing suggestions requested
I'm not sure. I take my gabapentin at 7:00. I take my whole dose. 1800 mg at one time. I used to take 600 three times a day. My pain Doctor started having me take it one time. I also take buprenorphine. 5 mg at 2:30 pm. I that early to prevent insomnia. I also have a spinal stimulator. It all works ...

Re: new to gabapentin
I've taken gabapentin for many years. With the weight gain, it's gradually. My advise is to just watch what you eat. I take 1800 mg daily. It helps me. In fact I started out taking it 3 times a day, 600 mg each dose. My pain Doctor started having me take it all in the evening. 7:30 pm. I had stopped...

Re: Riding the Big One (RLS 24/7, Hanging Ten)
It's great to hear from you. I started taking suboxone/buprenorphine last summer. I take a 2mg film and cut it up into 4 parts. I only need to take 1 of those 4 parts. I take it at 2:30 pm. I have an alarm set. I also carry some in my purse. I found that I had to take it that early so that I could g...

Re: Opioid Tolerance
When I augmented with mirapex, it was about a year afterwards that I started with methadone. I guess a long enough break. That year was miserable.

Re: Opioid Tolerance
I used to take methadone and now take buprenorphine. It seems to be working better for me. It might be an alternative for you to alternate with. You can't take them together.

Re: Has anyone tried buprenorphine?
I would try moving your dose to earlier. That really helped me with the alertness. I usually am able to go to sleep between 11 and midnight. If I took it at 9:30 pm, I'd be up all night.
Good luck.

Time Without Any RLS
I've just went 5 weeks and 1day without any RLS symptoms. A new record. It was so nice. My life almost seemed normal. Oh well

Re: Has anyone tried buprenorphine?
It's turning out that I am taking 1/4 th of the film. I have started exercising. When I do anything but sit, I have increased RLS. This is working to take it at 2:30 pm. I may even move it to 2 pm to combat alertness. At least my RLS is gone.

If he puts you on an opioid, just wait and see what happens. At first it should be fine. If you start to have some alertness, try taking the dose earlier. I'm taking buprenorphine film, 1/4 of a 2 mg film. I am now taking it at 2:30 pm. I might even try 2 pm. I'm waiting to see how tonight goes.

Re: Has anyone tried buprenorphine?
I'm still doing well with buprenorphine. When my RLS is worse, I take 1/4 of the film. After I've had an injection of a steroid in my back, then I take less. Either none or 1/8th of a piece.
I had more break through RLS on methadone and before that mirapex.
I'm sleeping much better.
