Re: Spinal stimulation?

I don't know. Like everything we try it is a gamble. I just know it's working for me.

Re: Must I have a sleep study done?

Just tell the Doctor you can't do a sleep study away from home. Say financial hardship as well as that you don't sleep well, including you can't have anything on you. Just refuse. Besides they can do a partial study from home.
Good luck.

Re: Spinal stimulation?

I realized this morning that I am sleeping like I did before I got RLS. Last night I went to bed at 9:15 pm, up once to the bathroom and woke up at 7:20 am. I know I woke up a couple of times to change positions but went right back to sleep. This is so weird. And then I am still getting sleepy durin...

Re: Spinal stimulation?

I can't believe how much sleep I am getting. I am averaging 7.5 hours plus a nap in the afternoon. When I first started getting RLS, 30 years ago my Daughter told me that she couldn't sleep with me because my legs were always moving. Back then it felt like electricity going down my leg. Also I think...

Re: Pharmacists and Opioids

Oh wow. I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. I have been lucky. I found a pain Doctor and a pharmacy. I am so looking forward to weaning off of methadone for that very reason. Having to fight with Doctors and pharmacies.

Re: Spinal stimulation?

I am two days out from having the surgery for the spinal stimulator. So far so good. I took two oxys the first night and only one last night. I have been sleeping well. I don't plan on taking any oxys tonight. They would be covering any spasms if I'm having any. My usual is to wake up every two hour...

Re: What's the deal with magnesium?

I do take magnesium and it has helped my leg cramps. I have it all. RLS, leg spasms, pain and leg cramps. There is a difference.

Re: Spinal Stimulator

I just finished the second trial for the spinal stimulator. Doctor pulled the lead today. I talked to the rep about it regarding RLS. She said it has worked for some people. Mostly on an individual basis. She said they place it in the same area for people any leg issues, pain, my spasms, RLS. The be...

Re: Inspire sleep device

I was supposed to look into that but then I moved. I was told you have to be under a certain weight. That's all I know about it. There is another one for central sleep apnea too, that does not require a normal weight.
Good luck

Re: Spinal stimulation?

It really does help my RLS and spasms. I think for insurance companies to approve it for RLS, it has to be listed under chronic pain. Especially for people who take opioids since they don't like prescribing them. The only problem I see is to decide where to place the leads. I did see a few articles ...

Re: Spinal Stimulator

Glad to hear it is working out well so far! Please keep us updated on how it goes! Also, sorry if you've answered this elsewhere, but did your doc want to try the stimulator specifically for RLS or is it primarily for chronic pain or some other condition? This treatment seems very promising, but it...
