Re: Weaning off Methadone

I am now glad that I was able to reduce the methadone. I saw the Doctor at the pain clinic in Albuquerque. The first thing she said was, she does not prescribe methadone. Needless to say, I knew this would happen. She ordered an MRI and X-rays to look at my back. She thinks a spine stimulator will b...

Re: Biggest fear

I have an appointment with the pain clinic Nov 13th. They are the only ones who prescribe opioids. I hope they keep me on the methadone.

Re: My visit with Dr. Rye

I have taken Ambien only a couple of times. I was given it for a sleep study. I took it a couple of weeks before to try it out and found that it did nothing for me. My sleep was the same. It didn't knock me out like we wanted it to. I have also taken sinemet. I found that it only lasted about 4 hour...

Re: New here... Intro and lots of questions about Methadone

I have been taking methadone since 2010. The first couple of months I experienced nausea, but it finally went away. Before the methadone I had augmented with the mirapex ( 9 years). After that I was taking 5 different meds. I was a zombie. I tried lyrica and was suicidal. Methadone, I take 5 mg at n...

Re: Biggest fear

I don't know. All that I have ever noticed is I either sit in my chair and do nothing or I am active. The exercise is consisting of slowly walking about 1/4 mile or so. I went too far yesterday. I ride my bike for two 15 min sessions. For me, if I just sit in a regular chair with my feet down, that ...

Re: Biggest fear

My leg was so bad last night. I know it's because I am now more active. What a pain, literally.

Re: Biggest fear

I don't eat at night, really. I used to do that years ago when I first started being up at night. Now I just eat too large of portions. Also ice cream calls my name. I could eat it twice a day. I am going to use the "Lose It" app. I have used it before and it is eady to use. I am going to focus on l...

Re: Biggest fear

I saw my new oncologist today. I really like him. The first appointment that I have with a primary doctor, is Monday October 19th. She is in the same hospital system as he oncologist. The oncologist told me that she will take me as a patient. I canceled the other two appointments with the other prim...

Re: Biggest fear

I have three primary doctor appointments lined up for next week. I will cancel those I don't need. So far everything seems to be working out. I see the oncology doctor this coming Friday. I had a Covid test last week because I was sick and one on Monday and because it's a different state, the oncolo...

Re: Biggest fear

I went to High school in Albuquerque. At that time, 8 years. Then in 1996 moved there again for 15 more years. I love it here. I am near Old Town, Down town and the Zoo. I wanted out of the winter cold and high altitude. My blood pressure should be better.

Re: Biggest fear

I moved to Albuquerque yesterday. It was a long day. It's been about a month since I started packing. My legs have been going quite a bit since then. I have been taking an extra half tablet of my muscle relaxant and that seems to do the trick. Once I get settled in, I hope they will calm down So all...

Re: Weaning off Methadone

There is a fire to the west of us, one to the south and one to the east, all 20 miles away. A few days ago the smoke was very bad. I could smell it in my house. Then a storm came through with high winds which helped and got a couple of feet of snow in the mountains which helped too. Smoke has gotten...

Re: Weaning off Methadone

I moved my methadone an hour earlier and an hour later, so more like 10 hours apart instead of 8. I also added back 1/2 tablet, 1mg, of Tizanidine. It is taking care of them. I am packing every day so my spasms are back. Another reason I feel they are related to my lower back pinched nerves. My RLS ...
