Re: Pit of despair.

I should have added that I moved to New Mexico to get out of the high altitude, which for me was 8,000 feet. That contributed to my central sleep apnea. Moving helped me.

Re: Must I have a sleep study done?

So sorry, debbluebird, that I forgot all about this thread. I emailed Dr. Rye's office to tell him I really didn't want a study and yes, I did cite financial hardship among other things. Long story short, even though I kept inquiring over the next 3 weeks, the doctor never replied even though his s...

Re: Pit of despair.

There is hope. I took pramipexole for about 9 years and then like you, the Doctor prescribed more not realizing I was augmenting. I didn't know what it was at that time. Then I was switched to a host of meds that turned me into a zombie. Finally I changed Doctors and she put me on methadone. I was a...

Re: How many hours do you sleep?

I’ve gotten very very serious about tracking my sleep. Recently, I’ve actually bought a high end sleep research device to determine what is lacking - quality or quantity or both. I’ve always thought my sleep quality was poor but, only 5 nights in, it’s clear I am not getting nearly as much sleep as...

Re: Stressless Chairs

I have found that if I sit in a chair or car with my feet and legs going to the floor then later I have more symptoms. It helps me to have my legs up in the recliner when at home and not just any recliner. It has to be comfortable. I have a lazy boy.

Re: Spinal Stimulator

This is not an easy thing to go through, but it is worth it to me. We are still working out which program and level will work best for me. It is getting better. It through a monkey wrench into everything when It weaned off the methadone.

Re: Spinal Stimulator

It hasn't been easy. I am now off methadone. I have another few days before it is totally out of my body but I think the worst withdrawals are over. I was up all night Wednesday but I feel better today. I know it wouldn't be easy. I had to add back gabapentin but only 600 mg am and pm. I have been o...

Re: Spinal Stimulator

Wishing you success and also a suggestion. Have you tried acupuncture while reducing the Methadone? After three spinal surgeries I had horrible withdrawal from the opioids. It was only acupuncture that finally ended the physical dependence. I've tried acupuncture for many things in my life since it...

Re: Spinal Stimulator

I did that last reduction on March 6th to 2.5 mg. This is not an easy process. They tell me that when reducing pain meds then the stimulator can become too strong and over stimulate. I have been going through what that feels like. I have now reduced the stimulator by 2 levels, not on the same day. T...

Re: Spinal Stimulator

I have cut back again. Last night I had some withdrawal symptoms. I am hoping tonight will be better. I am down to 2.5 mg once a day. Over all it is better then the last time I weaned off methadone. I am not that miserable. I am starting to have a few spasms at night which I expected. I am thinking ...

Re: Knees buckling without warning

I had that happen when I had meniscus tears in my knees. I had fallen but also had severe osteoarthritis. I got them repaired and it stopped. They can only see the tears with an MRI not an x-ray.

Re: Spine stimulater

I just had the trial and got my permanent one put in about 3 weeks ago. I have a thread about it under physical treatments. My RLS is now gone but then reason I got the stimulator was for leg spasms. Now RLS is gone and only one spasm a night. Is your RLS severe? Some nights I have had no spasms. I ...

Re: Spinal Stimulator

I am finally past the insomnia. I decided I won't decrease methadone again until March 10th. I increased my stimulator this morning due to spasms last night but they are not like they used to be. I am able to change positions and go back to sleep. They hit twice, at 3:30 and 5:15 am. I used to have ...
