Re: Buprenorphine, the good, bad and ugly

I have a new pain Doctor. I've had her less than a year. She never asked me about my history. She just took over from the previous doctor I had started with since moving to Albuquerque. The first injection she did was in the right spot, last summer. I had sent her a note that my RLS had returned and...

Re: Buprenorphine, the good, bad and ugly

Lately my RLS has started again, for about 2 weeks. They wouldn't give me the steroid shot in the right spot. She said she was afraid because of the bone on bone of me my spine as well as the hardware in that area. She did give me 7 lidocaine shots around the lower back area. So that really didn't h...

Re: Spinal Stenosis = RLS for me

I should have said, that I also have spinal stenosis. I had surgery for it in 2003. In 2018 they added hardware for Spondylosis, on L3, 4 and 5. So my back is a mess. I also have 4 Herniated discs, spinched nerves and osteoarthritis.
All of this has caused my RLS. Starting in 1990.

Re: Spinal Stenosis = RLS for me

I started with a 1/4 of the film, taking it twice. It wasn't easy to cut it, but I have tiny scizzors, 1 mg. Now I take 1/2 at 4 pm and the other half at 6:30 pm. So a total of 2 mg. I don't know how I came up with those times. My only side effect has been sleepiness at times. Sometimes just after n...

Re: Methadone causing Sleep Apnea?

If I don't sleep on my side, my apneas are worse. On my back they will be in the 30's. On my side 5. Those numbers are with my machine. I went from cpap to bipap. Now I have an ASV Machine. I have severe obstructive sleep apnea and severe central sleep apnea. I have noticed this as well and tend to...

Re: Buprenorphine, the good, bad and ugly

More than likely your sleep apnea is worse because methadone decreases your heart rate and respirations. I have severerespiration. If I sleep on my back they are worse. I find that if you can sleep on your side, that will help. If you can't, like me, I try to turn my head a little. My whole body is ...

Re: ANTHRAX VACCINES / LINKED TO RLS?

It sounds like you are augmenting on your med. Increasing the dose won't help. I've gone through that before.
I don't know about the vaccine.

Re: Buprenorphine, the good, bad and ugly

I've had RLS since 1990. I've tried multiple meds. Mirapex worked sort of for a few years. Next came methadone and gabapentin which worked better, for a few years. Now I take buprenorphine and gabapentin. This is the first time that I've gotten relief for several months at a time. That has never hap...

Re: Head roll

Mine is 24/7. Mine feels like electricity going down my leg and then the leg would jerk. I tried over 20 meds. Merapex, a DA worked sort of for awhile, then stopped. Then methadone worked great. I can no longer get that, so now I take buprenorphine. I also take gabapentin. Mine is now controlled. If...

My side effects with Methadone lasted 2 months, then went away.
You are on a very small dose. That's great.
They started me on 10 mg.

Re: buprenorphine transdermal (patch) dosis

I take the buprenorphine film 2 mg every day dividing into doses. I looked up conversion to patch. 10 micro grams in a 12.5 cm2 area over 7 days = 10 mg My RLS has been controlled for months. So my dose is a 5th of a patch. My doctor also told me it's better for older people instead of taking methad...

We can only be hopeful. Just recently I started having some gum issues. I started the buprenorphine last summer.

Re: What’s the end game?

I'm 73, female. I've had RLS since 1990. So, 33 years. Mine has been severe for about 17 years day and night. I have short term memory loss due to sleep deprivation. I had to retire at age 60 because of that. I'm an RN. I've tried about 20+ meds. The DA worked for about 8 years with occasional RLS, ...
