Re: WED RLS Doctor in Kansas

Many thanks, and I hope that anyone who can travel to Wichita, KS will consider seeing Dr. Ekengren. After being off my medication ie because my GP dragged his feet in getting the refills called in etc, that a lone was enough to throw my RLS management off course. Then flying to the East coast etc, ...

Re: Feeling Very Discouraged Tonight

Dr Ekengren in Wichita Kansas is very informed regarding WED/RLS. An appointment is usually available within two weeks. He was informed and current on WED/RLS treatment protocals, including the use of methadone, and opiods. He is compassionate and for the first time in a long time I felt that a doct...

Dear Deb, Hope that you are finding some relief... one thing I notice in my instance is that my WED RLS is worse in the spring and fall. Also when I have problems, ie inadequate medication etc it takes sometime for the WED RLS to even out... I finally got med refill late monday, yet had several slee...

Re: Feeling Very Discouraged Tonight

So glad you could enjoy the Aspens... so sorry you have had another bad night. Looking through the medication information I came across this information on Gabapentin, which says that the higher dose of gabapentin you take the less that is absorbed. Now I have had very little sleep, dealing with RLS...

Re: Narcotics and rls

My hopes too. I last saw him 2 years ago, and he was familiar with Early/Johns Hopkins program. He was willing to prescribe the hydrocodone I use, yet so was the GP... just another glitch in the road... Reverb, I have days where there is considerable pain in my legs and arms, it is worse in spring a...

Re: Narcotics and rls

I'd like to add my thanks for the additional information. Printing it out to send to my GP, though I doubt I'll be working with him much longer. And will have it in my files when I see the sleep specialist thursday. It is so frustrating when a doctor works with you for two years, does not ever expre...

Re: Narcotics and rls

Reverb, Like Ann says, it may be augmentation. I did not tolerate requip or mirapex... augmentation with requip was within three days use, the first night was great, the second night I woke in the middle of the night with RLS within three hours, third night within an hour... vivid dreams also. Also ...

Re: Not new to RLS or the discussion board

It has been a long while since I have posted. Since last time I was here, I have retired in 2008 and spent most of my time helping my husband who was injured by having a 5000 lb iron beam dropped on his feet. Must say that due to the wisdom and guidance I learned from this forum, we were able to tak...
