Re: I would just like to vent and also ask some questions..

Thank you all again for the responses. And, thank you for the information on the methadone. Quite frankly, reading about it scares me more. Don't know if I could do it... Again, I will cross that bridge when I come to it. I honestly don't think my husband would be on board with the methadone either....

Re: I would just like to vent and also ask some questions..

When I think about it, it does not seem that I need a sleep study. I'm no doctor though. I don't wake in the night that I'm aware of. It's just getting to sleep that's my problem. Hopefully they won't want me to get one. It doesn't sound fun. And, I don't need another large scale medical bill. I've ...

Re: I would just like to vent and also ask some questions..

I am of course skeptical. But, I have heard very good things about this doctor. Obviously I'm not looking for a miracle. I'm just looking for a medical professional that has more experience in the disease and is a WAY better support than the neurologist I have now. I feel as though when you have a c...

Re: I would just like to vent and also ask some questions..

Thank you all so much for your posts!! It is nice to feel like you're not alone. Although I wish none of us had to deal with this hellish disease! I think what it comes down to is I really need a doctor who understands me more, will support me more, and develop a better treatment plan with me. This ...

I would just like to vent and also ask some questions..

I was diagnosed with RLS almost a year ago. I have been taking Horizont 900 mgs. It works for the most part. I have some nights where my right leg just hurts and aches so badly and I can only lay on my left side or on my stomach. Without the meds both legs, and my arms get to me. I am only 31 years ...

Re: Has anyone tried Lyrica?

Thank you! My current neurologist did mention a sleep study. It's funny because sleeping isn't really my problem these days. I mean.. my leg and arm will bother me and it takes me a bit to get comfortable and fall asleep. But, it's work that makes things 100% harder. I sit behind a desk all day. Som...

Re: Has anyone tried Lyrica?

Thanks for the responses. I saw my neurologist this past Friday and it did not go all that well. He doesn't seem to think switching me to Lyrica will really help. He said a lot of these medications tend to wear off for people with the RLS diagnosis. And, because Horizant and Lyrica are so expensive ...

Has anyone tried Lyrica?

I've been taking Horizant for the past month and my symptoms are starting to come back. It worked great up until a week ago. My neurologist increased my dose. It helped for 1 night. I don't have the urge to move my legs. So, I guess the Horizant is helping in that aspect. But, the pain I'm in is cra...

Re: Does the nausea from Mirapex ever go away? Ugh..

Finally got my blood work results back. B12 is a little low. Within normal limits - just low. The neurologist would like me to take a supplement. He said B12 even a bit low can aggravate RLS. I have to make a follow up appointment with him at some point. But, I guess the only way he'll know if the B...

Re: Does the nausea from Mirapex ever go away? Ugh..

Our power was restored late Saturday afternoon. There was a crew there from MIssissippi restoring it. I live in Pennsylvania. I wanted to hug them! I'm not sure New Jersey or parts of New York are going to recover so quickly. It's very sad.

Re: Does the nausea from Mirapex ever go away? Ugh..

Hi everyone, Sorry that it's been awhile. The Horizant is working wonderfully. I was randomly having a few off days in the beginning. But, that seems to have worked itself out. Hopefully I still continue to have such great luck! I got a ton of bloodwork over the weekend. Still waiting to hear about ...

Re: Does the nausea from Mirapex ever go away? Ugh..

The Horizant is working great today. The past 2 days it was wearing off between 2:30 and 3:00 pm while at work. It's 3:37 pm and I'm still going strong. Maybe as the days go on and the more medication I get in my system it lasts longer. Who knows? This morning I didn't wake up feeling like I was on ...

Re: Does the nausea from Mirapex ever go away? Ugh..

In the research I've done it seems people with RLS just take 1 600 mg pill every day. It's a long acting drug. People with epilepsy tend to take 2 600 mg pills per day. Doesn't seem as though anyone takes a dose any higher then that. It is recommended to take at 5 pm every evening. I took it at 6:30...

That's ok! My legs are starting to bother me now. :( It's only 2:30 pm. I'm trying to stay positive.

Re: Does the nausea from Mirapex ever go away? Ugh..

Thanks! I wasn't dizzy. It was just a weird off balance thing. Kind of like being drunk. Or, like I was trying to walk on a boat that was rocking. If that makes any sense... It was weird! And, kind of funny really. I'm just glad it passed! If that's all I'm going to feel in terms of side effects.. I...
