Re: New to Site; hello to all

Hi R. Dragon - welcome!!! I also had years of mild RLS, and then when I was in my late 60's it became severe. For the last five years I've used kratom to manage the symptoms. Kratom is the powdered leaf from the kratom tree in South East Asia. I get mine online from Velvet Soul but there are a lot o...

Re: Very good article on Opioids & chronic pain

Thanks for the article, Leggo. It is very interesting and very timely. And, Views, I certainly agree with you as well, although I think the population of users has grown since 2012. I'm thinking of people like the vets with PTSD. I read the kratom postings often on reddit, and there are now thousand...

Re: Elastic support bandages

I'm still using them and really like them. When the RLS feels very severe I often pull on two "stockings" on each leg, one of top of the other one. I know they probably aren't as tight as medical grade support hose, but they are very comfortable and easy to put on, so I'm sticking with the...

Re: Trying out Kratom

I've used kratom for over four years now, to manage my RLS, but it's all I've used, so I don't know how you would use it to taper off of other medications. I would just caution you not to chase the euphoria. From what I've read and experienced myself, any euphoria is short-lived and just pushes you ...

Re: Elastic support bandages

I can't adjust the pressure, Beth. It's a gentle pressure and it seems to work fine. And they are very easy to put on. I just pull them on like I would a sock. You can have them going over the ankles and knees or not, just depends on how long you cut the tubes. Anyway, not a perfect answer, but help...

Elastic support bandages

A few weeks ago I ordered a roll of support bandages from Amazon. This is what it's called: Derma Sciences GLG10 SurgiGrip Tubular Elastic Support Bandage, Large Thighs, 4.5" Width, 11 yd Length. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RDIMZK0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This...

Re: Crocheting!

I taught myself how to sew about fifteen years ago, and now that my RLS has gotten so severe, it's been a real blessing. It's a lot of gentle movement: standing up to cut out a garment and pin the first pieces together, then walking over to my sewing machines and sewing a bit, then getting up again ...

Re: Switching off methadone saga

Can you take kratom? Have you tried it? Many of us have found relief with it. It is a herb with some opioid properties. If you search these boards you'll find plenty of info.

Re: RLS, Fatigue, and Klonopin

Hi CFKid Wow, you have a wicked group of issues. I am not at all familiar with the kind of meds used for CF, but I do think that regular opioids suppress breathing, don't they? And I'm assuming that with CF that is the last thing you would want. I have asthma, and try to stay clear of anything that ...

Re: Potatoes for Restless legs

I love potato salad, and it's good cold. My mother-in-law made added a little bacon to it, and put the mayonnaise on while the potatoes were still warm. She also added a little mustard. It is really out of this world.

Re: I New Here.

Hi Gale, I'm so sorry you've been dealing with this horrible disease all on your own for so long, but welcome to our message boards! It sounds like you've tried almost everything. I use a plant called kratom to manage my RLS. It is the powdered leaf of the kratom tree, from South East Asia, and avai...

Re: Approaching a Doctor

Hi SonriaCat, Oh, I got so angry reading your post. How can doctors treat a patient like you've been treated? Here's what I know: It is very important, for all kinds of reasons, to change doctors when one treats you like you've been treated. Not just because of the RLS--although that is a critical r...

Re: Where to buy Kratom

If I've dissolved the kratom in orange juice first, it usually takes about twenty minutes, or sometimes less, to work. Good luck.

Re: Where to buy Kratom

One gram of the maeng da from Velvet Soul, for me, is about as effective as two grams of Red Borneo. I tend to use the Red at night, and the maeng da during the day. Hope it works well for you.
