Re: Opiates and drug testing

jy13131 Employers usually test for marijuana, benzodiazapines, opiates, and amphetamines. If you have a prescription it shouldn't an issue. Does the job specifically say you will not qualify if you test positive? It seems like that would be over stepping what is okay legally. The methadone wouldn't ...

Re: MD's, side effects, venting; warning-long post

karalea sounds like you are on the right track, and good for you for insisting your doctor see you. As much as some doctors don't like it we have to be pro-active in our care or we get no where. I hope your head keeps getting clearer too.

Re: MD's, side effects, venting; warning-long post

Karalea I really worry about how your doctors bad treatment could be detrimental to your health. I also think you should try a vacation from your drugs. I don't know about all of them but some meds can be deadly if stopped cold turkey, I know you are already aware of this. To stop the DA's you could...

Re: Have Meds, Like To Travel

I think building up a stash is so smart. You never know what might happen, 4 feet of snow, a terrorist attack. I am not one of those people at all worried about the end of the world but I do worry about my WED and not being able to get my meds. My goal is to get at least a couple of months in my sta...

Re: Published Research - General Sleep and WED (RLS)

Badnights thanks for the info regarding alzheimers and WED patients. I have heard that if you have MS you can't get Alheimers, anyone else hear that? I have extreme sensitivity to cold, especially in my hands but I can practically stick my fingers in boiling water with little pain. I also take such ...

Re: Lost in my Oxycodone haze

Badnights are they saying Pramipexole is a bad drug for all cases of WED? I couldn't tolerate more then a week on it but thought I was not in the norm. That and the Requip I was given the first time both made me so ill I couldn't tolerate them, that plus they didn't help my symptoms. Pamndor the sid...

Re: Taking 8 meds just for RLS and related insomnia

Karalea I have been on suboxone for a few months now and have been doing really well. Luckily I have Kaiser because there aren't many doctors that can prescribe it. I have never seen the actual prescribing doctor as he is in the addictions medicine area but he does the prescriptions for other doctor...

Re: Lost in my Oxycodone haze

It makes me so sad the crap everyone has to endure from doctors and the side effects of medicines. All I can say is reading posts about all the different experiences and feelings that everyone posts helps me a lot. Also being able to vent helps me a lot and as this is not the Rainbows and Butterflie...

Re: Atypical Symptoms? (some newb questions)

Ellephant I wish you great results. I really hope it isn't MS. Please let us know what you find out, I know I am very curious. It must be strange to be pretty sure of your diagnosis then find out it might be something else too. I was wondering are you physically tense a lot? I am always physically t...

Re: Lost in my Oxycodone haze

Pamndor I know how important this forum was to me when I was losing it and knowing no one could understand what I was going through except the people here. Plus there are so many years of experiences good, and sadly many bad that everyone has gone through that we can learn from. I am sorry things ar...

Re: Atypical Symptoms? (some newb questions)

I have noticed my husband sometimes twitches when first asleep and he has no sleeping issues, even with working 24 hour shifts. Well at least Ellaphant we have each other to share our electrical like twitching. I actually like it because I know I won't have any wed symptoms. I do have the occasional...

Re: Atypical Symptoms? (some newb questions)

When I said I get no relief when I move I mean that I move, and yes the anxious urge to move is temporarily gone but as soon as I stop it is there again. So yes I get relief but not enough to be able to stop moving. I don't consider it real relief until I can stop moving and rest. As far as twitchin...

Re: How Opioids Work for the Treatment of RLS/WED??

That seems to make a lot of sense. It seems it should be a WED protocol for doctors to try opiates when a patient is stopping a DA. Thanks for the info.

Re: Published Research - General Sleep and WED (RLS)

Do people with wed/rls have a higher incident in Alzheimers?

As far as noise issues with sleeping I wake up with any slight sound. I didn't used to do that but I do now. I sleep with a fan in my window every night and that helps drown out some sounds but I still hear every little noise.

Re: Migraine's and RLS

I don't get migraines but I have severe bruxism, have had it for as long as I can remember. Have had my jaw lock open after hitting a squirrel and screaming and had to have surgery on both sides. I am lucky to have really hard teeth because I clench so bad I have dents in the one porcelain crown tha...
