Re: My RLS should I get a 2nd opinion ?

I don't know about when I wake up, but my mind will frequently race when I am having issues falling asleep due to RLS.

Re: Severity of RLS/WED?

The best way to evaluate the severity of your RLS is the International RLS Study Group (IRLSSG) questionnaire. The questions are ones that your doctor should have already asked you. There is a rating scale based upon your score that appears on the bottom of the third page.

Re: Published Research - General Sleep and RLS (WED)

Here is a link to the paper described above that appeared in Lancet this month. http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1474442217303277 There are a couple of conclusions that are not of any surprise. There were correlations between RLS and depression, ferritin levels and sleep problems. A...

Re: Tortured Newbie

KDJM, welcome to the discussion board. I wish that I could say that your experience is unusual, but most of us have somewhat similar stories, especially the part about your doctor. Hang in there, November 1 isn't that far away, especially if it is to see a specialist at one of the Quality Care Clini...

Re: Bad News

That is great news. If only we had more doctors like yours with the backbone to stand up to the administrators and policy makers who are trying to tell them how to handle their patients!

Re: It's settled! Seeing specialist!

This is a decision that you will not regret, even though the travel part can be a hassle. It is a great feeling when you finally get to meet with a doctor who "gets it" and who you know that you can have confidence in his/her recommendations for your care.

Re: Vacation and RLS

Welcome to the board. It is hard to say why your RLS would clear up while you are on vacation. Part of it depends upon your vacations. Years ago I noticed that my allergies cleared up while I was on vacation. My allergist figured it out, as a scuba diver, my vacations tended to be on liveaboard boat...

Re: Small accident

Deb, years ago I had the opposite problem. I had a car that was so new that it still had temporary (paper) plates when I was caught in a severe hail storm one night. I later found out that I probably drove just below a tornado. I ran off the road and hit a telephone pole because the hail had covered...
