Re: Atypical Symptoms? (some newb questions)

So after doing a lot more research and reading about personal experiences with various neurological disorders, it seems like everything that I have kind of fits more neatly into the MS jar than the RLS jar. What confuses me is I don't have any brain lesions (yet) so I really have no idea. I have an ...

Adderall

I was wondering if someone could please explain to me how adderall affects (or doesn't affect) WED symptoms. I'm confused because I thought that adderall acted by either producing more dopamine or preventing the reuptake of dopamine (I can't remember which - I just know that it increases dopamine in...

Re: Atypical Symptoms? (some newb questions)

Okay, serious question. Could this be super early signs of Parkinson's? Would that have shown up in my brain MRIs? I'm getting mixed results from the internet in terms of how Parkinson's is diagnosed. I assume this has nothing to do with Parkinson's since many members here have very similar symptoms...

Re: Atypical Symptoms? (some newb questions)

As far as twitching goes I sometimes get big, almost electrical like twitches in my whole body. Usually right as I am falling asleep. I never get these twitches when my wed symptoms are active. It seems I have to be somewhat relaxed to twitch. Sometimes they are just in a part of my body and it cou...

Re: Atypical Symptoms? (some newb questions)

I bet I just need an exorcism. That's certainly what it looks like, at least haha. But yeah. The distractability is 100% me. I'll probably be making an appointment at Johns Hopkins soon because this is getting ridiculous and EVERY nerve test and MRI comes back normal (and sleeping half an hour in 3 ...

Re: Atypical Symptoms? (some newb questions)

When you say twitch, do you see movement? That is not a WED/RLS thing. We move because of the HORRID sensation and STRONG URGE to move. It's as if our brain is telling us, YOU MUST MOVE, NOW! If we do not move, I've had my muscles move, as if my body was saying, OK, you didn't move when I told you ...

Re: Marijuana stopped symptoms!

Just throwing my two cents in on the indica vs sativa - indica really made it a lot worse for me. It actually put even more physical "emphasis" on my legs, and didn't make me tired at all. Though sativa is really hit or miss for me depending on the night, I get better results with it becau...

Atypical Symptoms? (some newb questions)

Hey there, Although I'm like 90% positive with the affirmation of my healthcare team that I do in fact have RLS, I wanted to ask about some of the atypical stuff that's going on with my symptoms that is preventing us from being 100% sure. (We can't just try a dopamine agonist and see how I respond b...

Is it possible to augment to that kind of medication, an alpha-2 adrenergic agonist?

Re: Marijuana stopped symptoms!

Has anyone experienced significantly worsening twitches/muscle jerks while doing this? I find that my unpleasent sensations dissipate a bit but I end up twitching all over.

Rapid or Gradual Onset/Progression?

Hey there, I saw a neurologist specializing in movement disorders at Columbia in nyc yesterday. He thinks that my RLS symptoms are either conversion disorder (admitedly possible) or an exacerbation of my tics (I don't think that's possible at all - completely different things). He said his main reas...

Re: Raising Ferretin Levels

No, I don't think that my doctor is very well-versed. She is the one who wants to start me on a DA and I'm like but.... but my ferritin is 30.

Re: Raising Ferretin Levels

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is an iron infusion? Is that a shot? (if so, is it worth trying to get one to prevent augmentation?)

Raising Ferretin Levels

Is it possible to do through supplementation? I just got my reports and my serum ferretin is way too low to be a proper DA candidate, but unfortunately my doctors thought that would be my best treament option, prior to this discovery. I think I had read somewhere that taking ferrous sulphate with vi...
