Re: There's hope for some of y'all....
I'm posting as I'm trying to answer as many questions as were asked. On a 1-10 scale, I may have been a 1 when I first started the meds. And, honestly, this 1 may be high and enhanced by the non-physical attributes of my mind. Example. When sleeping next to my wife I start thinking about how I'll wa...

Re: There's hope for some of y'all....
Thanks for the kind words. I was actually worried that some might take my post the wrong way. I'm definitely not suggesting that the course of my issue is/was normal in any way nor am I suggesting that everyone should just jump of the prescription bandwagon. I was trying to recall how bad my symptom...

There's hope for some of y'all....
Disclaimer: Before I begin my diatribe, please understand that this, in no way, is an attack against anyone with RLS OR the meds they take. I am solely writing this in hopes that it may help someone that, I guess, may have a similar internal chemical makeup that I do. We all respond to medications d...

Thanks for the advice Steve. I wouldn't have known about that aspect.

Does anyone know how the Neupro patch works?
I mean, in terms of how it dispenses the medicine over a 24 hour period? I am in the process of weaning off both Neupro and Trazadone and beginning Gabopentin (sp). I've weaned off the Trazadone. I've been taking a low dose of Gabopentin with a 2mg Neupro patch. Over the past few days, I've put the ...

Re: Question about pharmas, augmentation, etc...
Another weird side effect I have is the rash. Now, I understand that some will have a dermal reaction to the patch but what's weird is I went 2 months without any reaction. Now, I've got raised rashes, almost burns, wherever the patch has been placed for 24 hours. I mean, it's the least of my worrie...

Re: Question about pharmas, augmentation, etc...
Thanks for the input. I can't do marijuana as I'm a teacher. My latest "fun" with the Neupro is that I'm nauseous pretty much all day. Apple sauce for breakfast and lunch is all I can stomach. I mean, I'm glad that I'm able to lose a little bit of weight; however, at times it transcends ju...

Re: Question about pharmas, augmentation, etc...
Thanks for the input. I dropped my neuro appt but kept my "sleep specialist" appointment for the end of November. As I'm frequently injured, I've been "hoping" for an injury bad enough to require a week or two of pain meds so that I could ween myself off the DA's. I know that sou...

Re: Question about pharmas, augmentation, etc...
Thanks for the reply. Based on my pre-drug symptoms, I'd say I had symptoms of a 2 on a scale of 10. After being on the prescrips for 3+ years, I'd say the current breakdown is per my episodes at night are: 30% at a 2 or less 30% between 3-7 40% 8+ I mean, if I was on a 2 or less on any given night ...

Question about pharmas, augmentation, etc...
I've searched the board and didn't see this specific topic covered. I was wondering about something. So I started on RLS prescrips about 5 years ago due to, what I thought to be, pretty severe symptoms of RLS. What I didn't anticipate was that my definition for severe was severely underestimated. Wh...

Re: Odd reaction to Neupro
I'm not sure how much of a specialty the neuro has specifically to RLS. I will say that I saw him a year ago for something else and I wasn't impressed. For taking 3 months to get in, I kind felt like I got the brushoff. Hopefully, by then, I'll have a better idea of exactly what's going on. At this ...

Re: Odd reaction to Neupro
Thanks. I'm all over the place right now. At this point, my sleep breakdown is about: 30% - average night. 6 hours of sleep. 40% - bad night. 2-3 hours of sleep. 30% - hell on earth. Literally wide awake all night. What I'm trying to figure out is why I'll have absolutely terrible symptoms one night...

Re: Odd reaction to Neupro
Wow. I think you answered my question before I asked it. So, I had a few .5 milligram Ropinerole's in my cabinet. Since I was having no relief AND nausea, insomnia, and weak legs with the Neupro, I tried to switch last night. I didn't put on the Neupro patch and just took 1.5 milligrams of Ropinerol...

Re: Odd reaction to Neupro
Good view to have. To be honest, I don't even like taking Aspirin or Aleve when I get a headache. I've had bad reactions to allergy meds, muscle relaxers, am highly allergic to Aspartame and Morphine, and somewhat immune to anxiety drugs like Xanax. I'm just not that big a fan of meds in general - e...

Re: Odd reaction to Neupro
Got it and thanks. I was wondering about the amount of misery I might be bringing on by cutting out all meds.
Last night, I put on my regular 2mg Neupro patch but also took a .5 of Ropinerole. I was extremely comfortable; however, I'm assuming mixing the two is probably not a good idea, yes?
