Re: Newly Approved Device - available in US
Last night we went to dinner and a play with friends, who drove. I realized after it was too late to go home that I had forgotten to bring any Mirapex. We left at 5pm and got home just short of midnight. I had a few minutes here and there of rls but overall I did great. I did take a Mirapex when we ...

Re: Good RLS Doctor in Missouri?
Update: Percocet made things worse. So I dropped all meds except 1/2 mg Mirapex and my symptoms are only noticeable for an hour or so in the late afternoon before I take the Mirapex. I think I was on so many drugs that my system was on total overload. I'm sleeping better, feeling much better all ove...

Re: Omeprazole and WED
I've struggled with WED for over 50 years but it's gotten much worse over the last couple of years...24/7 symptoms for the last few years. A year or so ago I was on 3-4 mg Mirapex, clonazepam, celebrex, wellbutrin, and various other meds including previcid or Prilosec. Some nights I slept an hour or...

Re: Good RLS Doctor in Missouri?
Thanks for the suggestions. I do have the book; I thought I'd copy sections for my doctor. He's not too amenable to suggestions so I need to give him small bites. I will get this back under control. A dozen years on Mirapex has about done me in!

Re: Good RLS Doctor in Missouri?
Ann, I had hoped to hear from someone who'd had a good experience with a specific doctor. So far I've seen a number of doctors, none of whom seemed very helpful. Maybe that's just the nature of the disease; I know it's hard to diagnose and treat, but except in my first few years with Mirapex, I've b...

Good RLS Doctor in Missouri?
I live in mid-Missouri and need a doctor knowledgeable about rls. I've been to three neurologists whose goal in life seemed to be to turn me into a zombie. I've been to a pain specialist who recently implanted a spinal cord stimulator. I'm seventy years old and have had rls and severe scoliosis sinc...

Re: Newly Approved Device - available in US
I've been taking two mg of Mirapex (down from four!). I counted last night and I have sixty 10/325 percocets. I think if I can get by with one or two a day while stopping the Mirapex I'll at least be back to whatever normal is. I've had rls for over 50 years, so normal isn't going to be great. Today...

Re: Newly Approved Device - available in US
Unfortunately, you're right. I'm trying to stop Mirapex. In the process of having the device implanted I was sent home with ninety (!) Percocets. I've learned that if I take one when I begin to get bad symptoms, within a half hour they're resolved. However, when I talked with the pain doctor about a...

Re: Newly Approved Device - available in US
I just had a Boston Scientific spinal cord stimulator implanted. It's similar to an internal tens unit...probes along my spine connected to a controller implanted in my hip, with a remote control to select the program and intensity. It's primarily for my back but does seem to be helping somewhat wit...

Re: New to list; not to wed
Close to the worst night ever. My legs are in full throttle...kicking all over the place whether sitting, in bed or standing. I know that this is withdrawal from Mirapex and that it will eventually subside. I slept about an hour but kept waking myself up with the leg movements. Obviously not enough ...

Re: New to list; not to wed
Today has been interesting. Instead of any Mirapex, late this morning I took a Vicodin left over from my husband's recent bypass surgery. I took another after dinner when my legs had started to get really crazy again and all is calm. I've taken tramadol in the past for my back, and it seems not to b...

Re: New to list; not to wed
Thanks so much for the info. I've ordered the book and will certainly take the pamphlet as well as the book to my doctor. I know it will be hard to quit taking Mirapex but I also know it has to be done.

Re: New to list; not to wed
I started Mirapex at least ten years ago at very low doses and have increased over time. I wonder if being off for a few days in the hospital helped...symptoms were much better on no meds for rls. I just switched back to Detrol LA from Sanctura and my symptoms have dramatically increased. I'll see i...

Re: New to list; not to wed
In the hospital I had antibiotics and prednisone only. No opioids. Over the last year I had taken clonazepam, baclofen, gabapentin, bupropion, dantrolene, Cymbalta, tramadol, and Mirapex as well as ibuprofen and Tylenol for my back, Previcid for a hiatal hernia and Detrol LA for urinary incontinence...

New to list; not to wed
I'm a seventy year old woman who's had rls since I was about thirteen. It's gotten steadily worse over the years and in the last year I've developed a very uncomfortable new symptom. Instead of just needing to move one leg I find that the leg pulls toward my body; the muscles at the top of my leg dr...
